OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei tried to troll Xiaomi's ephemeral polls, but it backfired beautifully

Hey, remember that unfortunate poll that Xiaomi hosted a couple of days ago? You know, the one where asked its fans to cast votes for either stock Android or the company's own heavily-skinned MIUI, and deleted promptly after vanilla 'Droid scored a crushing victory? Yes, that's the one...

Most smartphone users aren't tech-savvy. So no, most Android users aren't technically savvy at all. Would be weird to say most of the 2 billion Android users are tech-savvy.

"So you’re saying most android users aren’t technically savvy?" Most smartphone users in general aren’t technically savvy!

Actually, I do. My daily driver is a Pixel.

I'm pretty happy with whatever android version my phone is currently running. Android can be customed in so many ways that it doesn't matter the version.

Fingers crossed that Project Treble fixes this!

Bingo and this truth pisses ios fans a lot. I remember the commotion from a few weeks ago when some users were able to downgrade to iOS 10, the news got quickly and it was reported my most Apple biased sites on the web. Now that's funny.

Pure Android is boring ... I prefer EMUI to pure Android

And other skins (like EMUI) are bloated and slow. I prefer stock android. Luckily we have options and choices to keep us both happy.

Yep, choice is good. If I didnt prefer bells and whistles I would just choose iOS and enjoy limited functionality over there.

EMUI is far from slow and is actually known for not really slowing after time either.

I'm replying on my Mate 9. It's far from the slowest, but it's also nowhere near as fast and smooth as stock. Plus it has loads of bloat.

Well, it's pretty easy to "buy" (Yes, buy) Twitter accounts to follow a certain account, vote in a poll and like and/or retweet a certain tweet. And... Well, I'm sure you can figure out the rest! As for me; I'd have voted for Oxygen OS as it sticks to Android roots from a visual perspective and offers an extensive set of features not present in Stock Android such as various types of gestures and double tap to wake to name a few. Oh well, G'Day!

Wait, you guys didn't get his joke with telling not to delete that poll!? It certainly wasn't because he was shore that "his side" will win, (even if in that moment it had advantage) it is just to make fun with did whole that poll thing, too. And I am prity shore that just because he wrote that, that pool got some attention...and Xiaomi fans came to make some fun ;)

Oxygen OS is amazing. Much more feature packed than stock Android.

Psst, the CEO of One plus is Pete Lau. Not Carl Pei, his the "co-founder". I guess the backfire got backfired by a backfire-er. =_=

Oh, as for the poll. Pure Android is obsolete. If and when you get Project Treble, try to boot it, and you will know how much work is put to tailor it for each handset. Either it's OEM ROM or Custom ROM that will always win the enduser.

"The skined people are just insecure iOS haters LOLOLOL." What? Stock Android looks nothing like iOS... And those who like skinned Android cannot be called insecure iOS haters, as there are many UIs out there which mimicks iOS' design and looks. What an ignorant comment, Zylam... I thought you were better than that.

I prefer Samsung Experience 8.0, 8.5 and 9.0 over pure android. Samsung Experience looks beautiful on the best built quality of Samsung

OxygenOS is basically Stock Android plus a few useful added features which only make it better in the end.

There is very little difference in Pure Android and OxygenOS. Personally, I like how they have the dark theme throughout the settings and menus, Whereas this functionality appears to allude the brilliant devs at Google.

Haha - he commented WAAAY too early - only 31 Votes cast? That was not a result. Poll had only been up for 37 minutes, talk about getting over excited!

Pure Android doesn't even have a silent/vibrate button in notification tiles! Too barebone. Doesn't even show battery percentage in the status bar. Pure Android only works if u use xposed & at least GravityBox

There is no such thing as pure Android. Each brand has its own version. Even the version Google uses on their devices is not pure as it has additional unique features that are not available in "pure" Android (AOSP).
