V40 is way more beautiful, Oneplus always has ugly designs, also UI is ugly on Oneplus

U actually think LG UI is good looking ? facepalm .... ok different strokes for different people I guess.... to me ,it's a reason to avoid using a LG phone.

LG's theme engine is pretty nice. Pixel Dark theme works well on it.

The UI looks like 5 year old Samsung cartoon UI. The OnePlus 6T UI is pretty much how Google intends Android to look.

V40: - Much more versatile camera. I seriously can't stand companies adding 2nd sensor just for depth. It just shows laziness. - Much better for audio in every single aspect. - Better screen - Supports HDR - Always on display - Better selfie camera - Headphone jack - FM radio 6T: - Probably little bit smoother/faster software experience - Much better battery life Overall you get tons of extra useful features for just 100$ extra. It's a no brainer.

Almost everything you say above is accurate. However, I didn't find the OnePlus having much better battery life. The V40 has expandable memory. The 6T will most certainly get faster software updates, even if LG improves their poor record in this area (as they have threatened). Overall, I liked both phones, but would go with the V40.

Display an image? Yes, but it's not HDR.

I got my brand new V40 for 5 days, then got a 6T right after. Gave the V40 to my mom the same night, and never thought once to go back. The 6T is just so damn smooth and I like the software customization. I have no problem going from the V40 screen to the 6T. On paper, it is a downgrade, but in reality, it's just as good. I never cared about HDR on a phone screen. Battery life is definitely better on the 6T. AOD is nice, but not necessary. Double tap to wake up is totally cool for me. I don't take many pictures at all, so 6T will do it for me. I got Jabra 65T Elite as my Bluetooth. I will save critical listening at home with my wired headphone. You left out IP rating! I am just here to share how I use my phone since I have personal experience with the two phones from V40 to 6T. FYI, I got my V40 for $400 brand new and 6T with T-Mobile $300 trade in with a OnePlus One in the US.

Whenever I see an LG device, it conjures thoughts of knockoff Samsung devices with more subpar quality. The last legitimately great device they produced was the LG G2. Then their quality and design just kept spirling down.

Man that phone was the best phone of the year and probably of next year. I had it and it was so good such a great battery. Damn what happened to LG after? Bootloops, low quality, this and that. What a shame.

The V40 or it's predecessor definitely isn't subpar quality by any stretch of the imagination.

From a performance standpoint - OnePlus has LG and pretty much every other phone including the Pixel 3 beat. Once you get used to that speed, it's impossible to go back to a bloated, slow phone.

The 6T's performance is so good because it optimizes the hardware better. Technically, it's no faster than any other SD845 device.

Its mostly cause of the animations which are almost non existent on OP6. Turn off the animations from developer settings on any other high end android and it suddenly becomes almost equally fast. For some reason even google on pixel phones uses long animations which slow down the phone.

Yeah, I was thinking of saying that, but I didn't want to be ridiculed if I was wrong.

I can see the arguments for the G40, but my two big must haves for a device are battery life and performance, and the G40 is so far behind in both of those categories that it's not even worth considering for me.

The only aspect where the V40 is worse is RAM, but 6 GB is enough. Both phones have the SD845. PhoneArena lists "Lots of RAM" as a pro for the V40.

6t battery life, v40 nearly everything else. Got both and the experience on the v40 is pretty damn good, just needs to last longer.
