OnePlus 6T launch date officially confirmed at last, event tickets now on sale

For a second there, it almost seemed like OnePlus was ready to unveil its next big phone without (additional) fanfare. But today’s exciting announcement is actually a confirmation of the official OnePlus 6T launch date.

Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer than expected for this already rigorously leaked handset. Instead of seeing daylight on October 17, as previously anticipated, the OnePlus 6T is scheduled for a glamorous New York announcement on October 30.

You’ll obviously be able to watch the event live online on the company’s official website, as well as attend the gathering in person. The shindig will take place at Pier 36, kicking off at 11 AM EDT three weeks from tomorrow, with early bird tickets on sale now at $20 a pop.

“Standard” tickets will cost $30 starting Wednesday, October 10, when “Plus One” tickets are also slated to be offered at $50 for those planning to take a special someone with them to the event.

Those are pretty low prices for the exclusive chance to “experience” the OnePlus 6T before everyone else, also including some mysterious memorabilia and even a free pair of Bullets Wireless earphones. Keep in mind OnePlus will only be selling 1,300 tickets in total, which means you should probably hurry and pull the trigger while you still can.

Today’s announcement is naturally accompanied by a brand-new teaser video, although this doesn’t reveal any new details about one of the fall’s most highly anticipated flagship phones.

The in-display fingerprint sensor is yet again teased with the tagline “touch the innovation”, while speed and smoothness are recurring themes in the company’s buzz-building campaigns. Who’s ready to “unlock the speed”... of a device with no headphone jack?
