Nokia puts a hold on N-Gage development until 2007

Nokia's VP for corporate strategy, Antti Vasara has confirmed that Nokia will not put efforts into the development of new versions or updates of the N-Gage gaming phone until 2007. The decision is provoked by 2 years of disappointing sales of the device – instead of the expected 6 millions, only 2 millions have been sold so far. Nokia hopes that by the year 2007 the screen technology will have developed enough to be worth focusing on gamephones again. Until then they will be concentrating on mobile music and mobile television. Meanwhile Nokia plans to proceed integrating the gaming software into Series 60 phones and producing the current NGage models for China and India.
