Nokia has today announced the 8800 Sirocco Edition slider phone which draws its name from the powerful desert-born wind. It is an upgraded version of the 8800, as the SVGA camera is replaced with a 2-megapixel one. The rest of the upgrades are mainly to the look of the handset, as the 8800 Sirocco Edition has stainless steel polished surfaces and a scratch-resistant glass 262k color display with sapphire coating, while the keypad is slightly changed and navigation key has a shiny look. The device also features a soundtrack composed by the avant-garde musical pioneer Brian Eno, considered the "father of ambient music."
The phone comes with a complementary stylish Bluetooth headset made of stainless steel and perfectly matching the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition.
The Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition is now available in select markets at a retail price of about $1280.
