Hi.Plan to move from Android to WP.Can you tell me if there are any guaranties from Nokia or MS for future Upgrades to WP9 when available for this phone? I really like it but if no MP9 Upgrade guarantee I may wait bit longer for that switch. Thanks in advance!

WP9 is a rumor, and not even a strong rumor. in all likelihood we wont se anything like wp9 for at least a few more years, and by then its time for a new phone anyway. This troll rumor hails from when wp7 got trashed for wp8. wp7 got trashed for not being able to upgrade to better hardware for new phones, but since wp8 dont have that problem thats not going to happen.

About the same boat as people who got left out of the ios7 update and droid 4.x update (of which droid 2.x are still being sold as new) Right now Blue is far enough away that you would probably buy 1 or 2 phones by then.

lol. you cant even get android4.4 on all 2013 samsung devices. and you ask if wp8 can get wp9? 8.1 is already great if not the best update on WP. you decide.

You can say the same thing for any Android manufacturer. Why single out Samsung? You sound like a butthurt fanboy to me.

I agree with you but I have asked because there are rumors that W9 will be available next Year and if that is the case I would like to know IF NOKIA or MS guarantee upgrade on their Flagship phone which I believe NOKIA 930 is.

my guess is definitely YES. that quadcore processor can handle that update eventually. they already rewrote the codes for 8.0. and since even the lumia 520 can get the 8.1 update with low end specs, surely lumia 930 can get wp9 with that kind of specs. all with a grain of salt. im not a microsoft employee.

Get a WP if you want a smooth and fluid OS that just works and will get supported for a long time. If you want customization and full power over your phone, then Android. :D

I like that everytime Nokia put a new feature in a phone, its not a gimmicky one. They always put stuff to there phones that are useful to people. OIS, Wireless charging, super sensitive screens for glove use..

I'd prefer docks over so called wireless charging but yea, its mostly true :p

you just leave your phone on the plate, no need to check if you put it right in the dock or what so ever. Amazing feature for lazy people like me and PLUS it saves your phone usb connector since you dont use it for charging.

Well the only dock i've really used is the mk31 for the z1 and its on the side so it isnt really hard to just put it down. But sure wireless is a 1 sec faster method but does it really load as quickly?.

Very cool feature ;) I think Nokia is not that far behind its competitors in terms of hardware or software, its just a diferent company trying to earn the consumers' heart The relation between hardware and software in WP is very good, plus Nokia's hardware that is more than enough to run the system and games, with very well made devices and very good looking displays :D

And we know lumia icon and 1520 is in top 5 gaming device in rightware. And both using 800 snapdragon, not 801 newer one.

WP8.1 plus 930/1520 will be great, an average user will be more than happy with these, shame that no one can break the marketing machine of samsung..

Yeah, and you, PA, as strange as it sounds, said that the sound recording on the Lumia 1520 is "terrible" (on the comparison article with the HTC One M8)! Which is, considering every other tech site has praised it, heck even your own review of the device read: "In the audio recording quality front, its four microphones help to capture crisp and clear tones."!!

What's the benefit?

There is no benefit, other than to brag about it or convenience for casual users. If it doesn't have 5 directional mics, it's completely pointless. Adds nothing that you couldn't just mux in yourself with a video editing software with one click.

better audio quality when you record something, look at any video from a 1520 and you will see the four mic really make a difference when it comes to recording sounds

Watch the icon vs s4 on youtube for audio. It is a drag racing scene...that is the difference, and when combined with 5.1...even better
