Unacceptable front facing camera on Lumia phones. Looks like they haven't even used VGA.

last year they said the same thing about the 800. still during the time of Motorola droid, the iPhone dominated and people seriously considered it as a better alternative in terms of functionality. are we looking at the 920 that way?

Samsung made the GS3 preorder number available, Nokia should do the same. Nokia has a track record of misleading marketing.

But I do think Lumia 920 has great innovations and Nokia has done a good job with the phone unlike L900.

indeed, first with their pureview that wasn't 'pure' enough... and now sold out from probably only 1k units available for each country...

Exactly! Last year they claimed the same for U.K. There were many reports of the 800 being so popular that it sold out there and now it's German's turn.
After releasing the quarterly financial results it was clear that it was just marketing scam. In fact U.K. had the worst number of sales of Lumia 800's among Europe!!!

Google is a young and innovative company, MS is an old and ineffective monopoly and I don't think MS can get in the mobile game, it's just too late for them and they only have themselves to balme.

wow, i've been seeing your every comment in this site and all you have is hate for MS.

DUDE! WAKE UP! You must be stuck on 2011 where android hype is all around. Don't worry, android would still be on top, but you can never be sure that it would only be 2-player game this time around. Accept the fact that MS' OS is gaining track.

Better late than never.

Seriously? I think WP has a wonderful UI, but that´s about it. If it takes market it will take it from the feature phones and from the iPhone mostly.
OS are markets with a ton of inercy, so I very much doubt you´ll prediction has any real chance.

Just saying . Users from apple will probably jump ship to windows phone as they think Android is too wild and open .

I am using a windows 8 PC .
I used to love mac os before windows 8 but i never owned one .Windows 8 is still the best . Although i love Mac OS because i think their hardware is overpriced sh*t .
I love to use my uncle's macbook air , but mac gives you a freedom of flashing windows on it when you get bored of OSX . Its easier to flash windows on mac than flash OSX on a windows pc ..

LOL, I never sleep so how can I wake up? Let's wait and see how WP can do.

I think L920 may do well but that is primarily b-c of L920 excellent camera and not the OS.

Good screen (but not as good as the DROID DNA ) , decent OS , beautiful design .
Windows phone is more user friendly , more snappy and more beautiful than android .
Best part about it is its the center between the wild android and apple's walled garden . Not too open , but not too closed .
I plan to pick up a Lumia 800 or HTC One S as my secondary phone , which one is your pick ?
I like HTC because great design , decent hardware and sense ! HTC sense is the most polished and beautiful android skin out there .
Its either sense or stock . Other android skin sucks

This is impressive but hopefully this will be enough to keep Nokia afloat. I still want to see them survive to make a true 808 replacement.

the early windows phone 7 devices were loaded with mid technology and people really would not want to buy or go on a 2 or 3 year contract for a smart phones with that kind of technology but today's Windows 8 smart phones have up to date high technology in them thanks in part to the new Windows 8 OS. now Folks see a smart phone that can do the job with competent results and they are not paying for a low technology device .The Nokia 920 although a big phone physically is well made and can take up the wear and tear of use over the years and has a good Camera to take a fast photo with this is ga great combo. and fof the Windows tile interface it is the best thing that could happen to it to introduce more People the OS. for Nokia if they put Android jelly bean on a slightly different smart phone body with 920 electronics and a pure view camera on it the Nokia Company would make a strong comeback to be one of the best smart phone makers in the world and would simply crush the competition an android 920 like smart phone is the most feared smart phone the other smart phone manufacturers do not want to see come into existance.

You all have to put things into perspective.
Sure, on its own, Nokia 920 is a fine phone that will sell well.
But what this means for wp market share?
When Motorola Droid appeared, the touchscreen smartphone market was basically in its infancy.
IPhone was selling 9 million units per quarter and that was considered huge.
So, Droid could make some market impact with even a few million units.

Now let's look at Nokia Lumia line numbers - they sold a catastrophic couple million phones in the last report, whereas android has seen 122million units and iPhone had 23million purchases.

In the next report android will SURELY grow even more, while iPhone will smash all previous records by far.
So mark my words, we could see about 130 million android and 45 million iPhone phones sold during this quarter.
EVEN if Nokia manages to sell 5-8 million of Lumia 920(doubling their post 5800 touch smartphone record set by Nokia N8 ), even if all WP phones combined reach 10-12 million sales this quarter, the market share of windows phone will continue to shrink !

Anyway to illustrate, here's how I see it turning out this quarter :
Android > 130 m units
iPhone ~ 45 m units
Black Berry ~ 6m units
Windows Phone ~ 8 million units (Nokia 920 taking about 4-5 million )

..and before you thumb me down, I suggest you wait for the quarterly report
