Nokia Introduces Three New Phones
Nokia yesterday introduced three new devices - the 3595, 2220 and 2260. The 3595 is a dual-band GSM device which boasts a 4096-color display and integrated Java technology for downloadable applications. It supports Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) for sending and receiving color images, text and sound and includes a built-in IM (Instant Messenger) as well as an XHTML browser. Shipments are expected to begin in spring 2003. The 2220 and its higher-end version, the 2260 are both referred to as "basic-category". Nokia 2220 supports TDMA800MHz/AMPS and the dual-band Nokia 2260 phone is designed for TDMA 800/1900MHz/AMPS operation. Both are expected to begin shipping during the 2nd quarter of 2003
