First time I saw the leaked images of this handset I thought it was a joke or a very early prototype. What are they smoking at Nokia? This back is horrible! I'd rather have one or two cameras and 5% less image quality than this.

This is innovation!

No, that's just a gimmick. Nokia has proven that they can make a killer camera phone in the past. They don't need to have a ridiculous looking backside. A good camera is more than just hardware. It also has to have equally good software, hence why the Pixel phones are the best cameras of any phone. There's a reason why gCam is sideloaded onto non pixel phones.

Gimmick? How do you know? The phone is not released yet so you don't know it's capabilities!

No s*** Sherlock. It's called speculation and discussion.

Glad that you're admitting that you're posting conjecture.

I don't recall ever caring about what you recall.

I don't care. My comment still stands.

No it doesn't. I don't care what you think still stands.

No, this is not a gimmick. This is innovation. HMD has used both hardware and software for these five cameras, and OEM's like Huawei have already surpassed Google in terms of smartphone imagery.

Gimmick - a trick or device intended to attract attention, publicity, or business. Sounds like the shoe fits.

in·no·va·tion [ˌinəˈvāSH(ə)n] NOUN the action or process of innovating. synonyms: change · alteration · revolution · upheaval · transformation · metamorphosis · reorganization · restructuring · rearrangement · recasting · [more] a new method, idea, product, etc.. This is the shoe that fits here.

Innovation for the sake of newness is not innovation at all; it’s a gimmick. Sounds like you need to learn the difference between the two.

Calling something a gimmick simply because you don't like it or the OEM that has produced said thing doesn't make it a gimmick. Sounds like you need to learn the difference between the two.

Show me where I said anything about hating the OEM or where I even implied that I hate the OEM for the Nokia phones. Unless it does something unique to make the average camera better than what it could be then it's a gimmick.

Lol, it’s pretty obvious considering you troll just about every HMD article, so take your pick. You don’t know what it has, so to call it a gimmick is premature. Five lenses on the back of smartphone is innovation in itself.

So you don't have anything? I thought so. I asked you to show me where I said hated the OEM or where I implied that I did and you failed so here take this L. It's a gimmick bruh.

Lol, I just named where you can see it in my previous comments. Reading isn't fundamental in your case. Hold this L for life. It's innovation, dudette.

If HMD (not Nokia, they don't make smartphones anymore) smoked something that made them come up with this beauty, then they need to keep smoking it, lol.

@feanor, just wait and see before judging. If it were an apple innovation you would be drooling all over it.

I thought the same thing myself. I didn't think it was real. I still can't get over how ridiculous it looks, but everything deserves a fair chance. Well almost everything.

The Nokia 9 looking ridiculous is extremely subjective. This phone is gorgeous, and sure to have an innovative take on smartphone photography.

Of course this is all subjective. No one ever said it wasn't despite what some people think. It's just that imo I think the penta camera is just a gimmick.

Not only is it subjective, it’s conjecture to say the five camera setup is a gimmick, despite what some people think.

Why don't you just address me directly instead of the indirect potshots? Oh yeah I forgot, you are afraid to address me directly. What I said was my opinion. Unlike you, I don't try to force everything as a fact when it really isn't.

Pot, meet kettle, since you do the exact same things that you're accusing me of, and have been afraid of me ever since your mxyzptlk account.

I'm responding to you directly right now ridiculous conjecture aside. It's an open forum, remember? You can't really expect for people to not voice their disagreements.

You forgot the comma after “now”. They have classes to help you get your grammar up, you know. You should look into that. There is no “ridiculous conjecture”, because you’re mxyzptlk, and everyone knows it. You really can’t expect people not to voice their disagreement about someone’s comment in a public forum. That’s not how it works. However, disagreement is one thing, parroting the same rhetoric on just about every HMD article is trolling.
