Will the camera software actually be good or will it be abandoned like the Nokia 8?

It may have the hardware, but it definitely won't be the Gcam that's found in the Pixel phones.

The cameras on the Nokia 9 Pureview is more about the software, and the Pixel has already been outdone by others like Huawei, Samsung, and a few others. I won’t be surprised if the N9PV outdoes in some aspects.

The only reason I wont say it doesnt outdo the Gcam is the processing time ..but once the processing is done, the results outdo the Gcam and when you realize what you are able to do with editing, you wont even think of comparing the two. Each cam is great for what they're meant to do and had the 9 come out last year, when itnwas meant to originally, the 9's camera would have felt like magic because even today, the results fascinates me.

I thought as much. Thanks again for your input from actual user experience. It’s always good to get input like this from people like you that don’t pretend to own a device to justify attacking the brand.

I know that it probably won't be abandoned as far as security updates and version updates with it being Android One, but on time is another story. The Pixel phones have the capability to produce excellent quality photos due to the mix of hardware and software that just can't be beaten imo. Hence why many people try to sideload Gcam onto their phones. I'm wondering how it would work on the Pureview.

I doubt that the N9PV will be abandoned at all as far as OS and Security updates go. HMD has a pretty solid track record at keeping most of their smartphones up to date. Camera samples from the N9PV have shown that it doesn't need a GCam sideload, especially since the Pixels phones have already been beaten by others.

Actually I just said that. But the rest of your comment outside of the security updates is just your opinion, not a fact.

And? I said it myself. And your comment is opinion as well, so dial down the hypocrisy. You just wanted to have something to say against my comment because it’s me that’s saying it.

Nokia 8 simply had a bad camera but they never abandoned it, they updated it several times that it eventually finally became decent and usable. The Nokia 9 camera is already amazing straight out if the box, the processing time is annoying at first but you forget about it once you see the results but either way, there is an update coming that is supposedly ironing this out, as well as the worst thing about this phone, the inscreen fingerprint reader (it's actually really horrible until further notice/update)

I’ve read the same about the in-screen fingerprint reader. And I’ve heard mostly great things about the camera. Thanks again for your input.

Neat, thanks for your unbiased thoughts. I may actually reconsider copping this jawn but I'll wait until they fix the issue with the FPS. I do think the reviews should judge it based on what is now only because of what they did with the Essential phone.

Thanks again for your unbiased, actual user experience that you’ve shared with us, as opposed to pretending to own something to justify attacking it. I’m definitely going to pick this smartphone up now.

What features separate this phone from the rest of the market?

The camera is stunning and when you edit the pictures, you will notice this even more but if you are someone who doesnt pay attention to details ...then there is nothing that truly sets it apart expect for how luxurious the device itself looks.

Who has the best RAW for editing P30pro vs Nokia 9 PureView? And which program is the most convenient to edit?

You get more detail in raw images eith Nokia 9 which means you get better results when editing. You can actuay use the built in Google Photos app even for depth or Adobe Lightroom

When you do your review, will you explain that the photo aspects of the Nokia 9 Pureview is more about the RAW file and what’s done in the Adobe Lightroom app designed for this smartphone after the RAW pic is taken, as opposed to the jpeg?

What is the purpose of having 6 cameras ? Does the Nokia 9 captures crisp, accurate and detailed photos in comparison to other phones like Pixel 3, S10+ & the P30 Pro which has less cameras than Nokia 9 ?

There were several photo samples that actually came from the Nokia 9 Pureview that looked fantastic, as well as many photos at online sites like Twitter from actual N9PV owners that look fantastic as well. Several YouTube reviews have also pit the N9PV photos up against photos from the smartphones you have mentioned.

...but yes it captures crisp, accueate and VERY detailed pictures ..so detailed that when shooting a long range photo, the objects in the back still show some decent details and are clear.
