How's the picture quality against the likes of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro + iPhone Xs + Galaxy S10 + Pixel 3 ?

EDIT: I was trying to include a link to share photos Ive taken but apparently I dont have 30 posts, so if there is another way to share my OneDrive link, just let me know ...but in short, the images are stunning. Quick shots I took while walking around. Bokeh/Depth and nightshots as well. All photos were taken with the normal 'Photo' setting. Some edited (through the google app or light room) and others not. Im not a photographer either, so I really just simply snapped away.

What's resolution and size of the raw samples? What are iso and shutter speed values available for manual mode?

3016 x 4032 for RAW and Not sure if this is what you need because I dont understand how to use these but: ISO 100 to 6400 Shutter 1/2 to 1/400

How does the speaker sound and is it strictly just for T-Mobile and AT&T or does it actually support all carriers?

Very normal, so good but nothing to brag about ..but you shouldnt buy this phone for speakers if that's very important to you, because while they are good, they're nothing special or amazing but they're not bad either.

It's not really that important, but I do watch a lot of YouTube videos and listen to a lot of music and podcasts. How's the screen? I wasn't too impressed when it was stated that it was OLED.

The screen is real nice I honestly didn't have any complaints. The only issue is the screen-fingerprint sensor. You can easily listen to Youtube etc. clearly but just dont expect anything special ..they're good but it's obvious there was no special focus on speakers.

I’ve been meaning to ask you about the screen. Being OLED and PureDisplay must make it a beautiful thing.

Where is the review?

I’ve read that there are a few tech sites/reviewers that are waiting for the coming software fix for the in-screen fingerprint sensor and random camera crash before reviewing. Perhaps PA is waiting as well.

I got to be honest with you MG, the phone is released and the reviews and subsequent scores should reflect the device as it is now IMO. Where is their integrity if they wait for fixes to do a review on one device but not the next... I don't remember them waiting for Essential to update their phone before releasing the reviews and extremely low score. These are Just my feelings on the matter.

Not saying that it’s the right way to go about doing a review, Subie. I’m just pointing out what I’ve heard and read. I absolutely agree with you. Some sites did do a re-review of the Essential Phone after it received many software updates, but some issues still persist from what I’ve read, like trouble connecting to T-Mobile’s network. And do I think HMD should have released the Nokia 9 Pureview if they were having issues with random crashing of the camera app and in-screen fingerprint reader? Absolutely not. I think they should have waited. But with the N9PV using the SD845 as opposed to the SD855, of which a solid explanation was given as to why, I can understand why they didn’t wait. I do have absolute faith that HMD will fix these two issues sooner than the Essential Phone pushed fixes for its many issues, though. These are just my feelings on the matter. ;)

Regardless of when the review comes out I do look forward to reading it. I just wish I could also see this device in person...

It's always good to see that I can have a conversation with a level headed, fair individual such as yourself Subie, as opposed to some other parties that choose to bash what they don't like just for the sake of doing so while turning a blind eye to their favored OEM's.

Pics really dont do this phone justice it's truly beautiful when you see it. I read everywhere that it's really nice etc. but from the images I saw, I still thought meh, looks alright, until i actually received it. Cameras look much smaller and discreet compared to what you see online and the way this phone blends together truly looks like a gem.

Is it a fingerprint magnet?

Yes it is but because it's so fragile-pretty looking, so if you're like me, you probably couldnt bear to take it out without a cover. but if you use the official Nokia cover (I'm spoilt for official products/accessories), you can maintain the look of the phone and avoid the fingerprint issue while resting assured your phone is safe from many things. It's not clearly visible in the images online but the way they've done the back of the Nokia cover, is so that it compliments the form of the back of the Nokia 9, so the phone still looks pretty inside the cover. The corners also feature bubble like things, which I think are there for further protection.

I’ve already seen that BestBuy does indeed have it out, but they seem to be going fast. The Nokia 9 Pureview is the best Nokia branded Android smartphone out today by so many metrics. Thanks again for your input. It’s people like you that actually own Nokia branded smartphones that lend their input and experience with the devices that make it worthwhile, as opposed to those that pretend to own the device so they can justify complaining for the sake of complaining over trivial things, especially when they don’t own the device. They need to get over themselves and stop aggressively attacking brands that they don’t favor and the people that favor said brands.

I'm surprised Best Buy doesn't have it out yet. They had the 6.1 and the 7.1 out to demo. Maybe they will eventually demo the Pureview although I'm just going to stick with the 7.1 as it's a better phone imo. As always, you are a much more level headed person than some people who choose to project and complain nonstop over trivial things. They need to get over it and stop being aggressive about everything.

Well said Subie. Kudos for fairness unlike some other parties. I recall people trashing Essential when it was first released, but not giving it another chance when it received multiple QoL updates. If they an ounce of journalistic integrity, they would review the Pureview as it is because they have to remember, Nokia delayed this phone multiple times. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Looks like some bugs and glitches that require a day one software update. Irony.
