"Nokia 1100" handset being tested for 2016; phone carries quad-core MediaTek chip, Android 5.0

The Nokia 1100 is an old entry-level phone from 2003. Some one at Nokia thought it might be funny to use the model number on a new Android model being tested. Under the terms of its deal with Microsoft, Nokia cannot offer a new smartphone until the fourth quarter of 2016. But a benchmark test was already conducted on a Nokia smartphone running Android 5.0. Under the hood is a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT-6582 CPU...

if Nokia is coming back to be just another phone maker, then I'd rather they wouldn't come back...If Nokia is coming back with innovation, like they used to, then I can't wait! be the Shepard, not the sheep

Nokia, instead of going forward with a revolutionary product, is going backwards.

I think there's an error in the print: Microsoft deal forbids Nokia (the company left after Microsoft took over the devices & services division) from selling smartphones and tablets under "Nokia" brand name until fourth quarter of 2015 , not 2016.

it's a GIONEE phone, maybe someone just put NOKIA for testing purposes. At most, it'd be just another rebranded China phone.

well, most of us speak about OS experience, android is more of innovation.. asus and nokia N1 has the best UI in this match while LG make a good step on their newest UI. IOS is neverlasting (include their body in hand but nay to ip6 body) and WP is Interesting, their UI more futuristic than the others too. after leave BB, I am using a first flight touchscreen smartphone wif galaxy S and it's impressed me with all that experience they offers. then switching to lumia 910, yes, I found WP more interesting, and the camera is superb than the others. but at least, IOS is the last stop until now (4s to 5s), not just about an easy sync with my work devices but I love how it feel in my hand. they offering more than just a tool and experience with visual (OS), they also offering a love, a product that we care about, a product with a good feel with our body (hands). we just talk about OS, why not the designs. most of android phones come with crappy designs, this should be a concerns for nokia, if they want make a 2nd step on android field (i wont count X series). make some phone with great designs, designs is sex appeal on products. nokia is the sexiest name in phone industry. we want nokia come wif a product that really feel good in our hand, feels like handling your girlfriend boobs, and caring it like its a part of our body. Nokia should make a product that we can 'feel it' and 'fallin love' with it. OS just an OS, their always change, but product wif 'sex appeal' and great 'feeling', not come everyday. well that is just my opinion.

I'm Glad Nokia will return. I anticipate that by the end of 2015 Microsoft will have replaced Absolutely all it's old and new "Nokia" Lumia brand smart phones with "Microsoft" Brand Lumia smart phones and may even have a "Microsoft" Brand "Surface" brand Windows 10 flagship smart phone. Microsoft Knows Nokia is coming back and "Will Note tolerate" People getting mixed up over whether they are buying a Nokia Lumia smart phone made by Microsoft or a Nokia smart phone Nokia has foxcom make for them. Microsoft will voluntarily let Nokia use it's Old Brand name and stand on it's OWM merits come hell or highwater

next up folks in a few months you will see Microsoft introduce it's replacement for all the Nokia lumia brand 700 and 800 series and maybe 900 series smart phones like the "Nokia" lumia 920, 925, 928, 929, ICON. there will be no more Nokia lumia brand smart phones sold by Microsoft only "Microsoft brand" smart phones. if you like Nokia designed Microsoft Lumia smart phones buy them Now because you wont see anymore on the market except those left unsold in a store some where !
