According to a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab are not getting the Value Pack software update, which we spoke of not long ago. That means that both devices will be stuck with Gingerbread...

It's okay with me if the hardware isn't capable of handling the software properly. No where on the box or my receipt does the carrier, Google, or the manufacturer guarantee us an upgrade to the newest software. If that bothers you, I completely understand. But I, for one, don't have unrealistic expectations. All of my devices got upgraded to Gingerbread, but I can't reasonably expect them to run ICS with their hardware. That's just the reality of their specs. My roommate has the iphone 3GS and loves it, he's always talking it up. He got the iOS 5 update and now he hates his phone. I am glad I'm not in his shoes because my phone is receiving software it can't handle. So yes, I'm perfectly fine with getting the OS it was released it [and are you aware that there are lots of incremental "updates" between builds? Even if they are lagging on the newest OS, they are still updating the phone with fixes and small upgrades.]

No, advanced means we can install custom roms when we don't get official ports...Now lets see that iPhone 3GS run OFFICIAL iOS5 smoothly shall we?

well it makes business sense.. they pop about 10 devices a year... of course they dont want you to get stuck on a certain phone... they want you to upgrade... Samsung is still a company out to make money...

Thats perhaps the reason why samsung has a bigger piece of the pie when it comes to smartphone sales. Instead of updating a device with similar specs of a flagship phone, they force you as a consumer to buy a new one within in 6-12 months of the release of the latest updated OS.

Or it could be because they make the prettiest screens and best hardware.

They are not forcing anyone to buy a new phone. The general public does not know or care what version of an OS they are on

All you do is call people fandroids. You never contribute anything in these comments. Yes there are fanboys on every side, but you're worse than the people you are complaining about. Keep it civil bro, there doesn't have to be an arugment on every apple & android article.
