If the iPad mini 2 doesn't have a Retina display, that will be the biggest failure of the year. ALL small tablets need high resolution displays in 2013, anything less is just embarrassing.

There are trade-offs to be made. Google's Nexus 7 had about 6 hours of battery life per allthingsd.com's review.

Keep in mind Apple's iPad Mini has about a 30% larger display area and currently has 10 hours of battery life. To put in a retina display, Apple has got to solve the battery life problem.

We shall see.

They'll probably increase the thickness of it to increase the battery size, like they did with the iPad 3. I don't mind, the iPad mini is already super thin, it can afford to bulk up a little if it means achieving the same battery life with a Retina display. Also, I imagine there will be some gain in efficiency going from the A5 to the A7, so that might help.

Seriously, do not feed this BS that they keep throwing out. Already the rumors for the next iPhone and iPad are hitting the internet. Which are just plain BS and speculation. Are they really that dissatisfied with the current release that they can only talk about next year....and NEXT next year. And not only that, but they feed the same BS about Apple, that they will finally add this or that and none of it comes true. Stop giving them a reason post this mindless drivel and hopefully focus on actual journalism. Otherwise I'm declaring that the next iPhone will also come with its own anti-gravity feature and will finally be able to take us back in time to visit Jobs (only visiting Jobs is supported for now, Apple will open the API to developers some time in the future).

Retina Display: Retina Display is a brand name used by Apple for liquid crystal displays that, according to Apple, have a high enough pixel density that the human eye is unable to notice pixelation at a typical viewing distance - Wikipedia.

Why increase the pixel density now if according to Apple one can't distinguish the difference ?

Dude, you're too fanatic fanboy. Apple Inc. is not a god that could last forever. All of the big companies like Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Blackberry, etc. have their golden period, but it cannot last forever.

I hope the iPad 6 will be much better than the 5. The iPad is the only Apple device I really admire.

That's a good question, considering we know nothing about it other than what it will look like.

It would be a noticeable upgrade to the 6 the 4 is quite future proof for another year with great support.

The next version of iPad mini will be a sensation sporting a true retina quality screen as long as it is not a kings ransom I will undoubtably purchase.
