No widgets?! No customization?! No SMS Ringtones?!? Are you that inept???? OBVIOUSLY you don't know a thing or two about the capabilities of an IPhone and what it can do once it's jailbroken! For your info, you CAN add widgets on custom themes....wait a minute, did I say CUSTOM?? Last I checked that is a form of customization! As far as Itunes is concerned, we CAN get our music absolutely free! And as for the apps, we can get ALL of our apps for free as well. Last I checked, you you still have to pay for some of your apps AFTER you root your paper weight...err...droid.

Why is it that every iPhone fan assumes that I know nothing about your little false idol just because I like Android better? Not only do I know about your little phone, I also have a jail broken iPad! Also, i've been a technician for several years selling and fixing Iphones, Blackberries, and Droids. Oppps...Didn't see that coming did you? So obviously i know a little more than you think about about all cellphone OSs and OBVIOUSLY you know now what happens when you make assumptions, right? You make an a** of you and sumption, LOL! I know you USED to be able to get all apps for free before the app that gave you that ability was removed from Cydia. If its back, that sucks because now you're pirating apps from developers who worked hard on that SW, and now they have no way to make up the lost revenue. At least a free app on Android has ads, so that way they can get paid for their work.

I still stand behind my statement, the iPhone HAS NO CUSTOMIZATION unless you are willing to void your warranty and jailbreak it. My Android comes with everything I need to make my phone unique which is important to me. If you unlock you phone and look at the screen, what info can you get from just that homescreen??? The how many notifications you missed, see the time? You can't do anything from your home screen except pick which app you want to open. If you have the ATT iPhone, you probably don't even see any bars! I got music, stocks, weather, my last SMS, traffic updates, news updates, an email widget and pictures of my smoking hot wife all WITHOUT rooting it! Now that's customization!

And that whole "paper weight" comment was kinda cute. But I tell you what...let's loose our phone cases, go outside and both drop our phones on the concrete from waist high. Let's see whose really walking around with a paper weight after that. After you pay your deductible and get you new iPhone, come back here and pick on somebody who doesn't know there stuff, because you just got seriously owned!

Umm. You realize that it only voids your warranty if you bring the phone in with jailbroken software. You can do a factory restore and it'll be fine. I've done it before.

Yeah, that's the word, but some say they can still tell if the rep digs for a certain file. I don't know if that's true or not.

Hate to disappoint you, sweetcheeks, but after the Gingerbread update my Droid X actually does run pretty smoothly, with almost no lag. That's with Widgets running on my homescreen, something the yawn-worthy, boring iPhone home screen doesn't have.

And just so you know, I wasn't planning on dissing Apple or the iPhone until I saw your comment.

So it's taken 2 years to get an update where you have a decent android phone? Nice!

No, Taco. It took about 11 months to eliminate homescreen lag. The Droid X has always been a great phone, just laggy on the homescreen because of Blur.

Androids been out over 2 years. I thought you loved moto blur? Why would you love something that's buggy and laggy? You sheep.

I never said it was buggy. I said that the homescreen was laggy. I do love Motoblur, because despite the lag it provides some great functionality. Now, if I were a true sheep I would deny that my phone has any problems whatsoever, and was absolutely perfect and that any alternative to it was a total piece of s**t and... oh wait, I just realized that I'm describing you. Funny how I always get the two acts mixed up.

I recognize when there's flaws with any product I use, little annoyances. Whether I like a product depends on whether my overall experience trumps those small annoyances. The answer is... you guessed it, Motoblur, especially now, provides a great experiences despite the flaws it used to have.

omg how did I miss taco coming in and bringing the fun to this thread?

Taco, did you remember to pack your ibreakfast this morning? full of A5 chips, I presume? but it wasn't your father Steve who made them, though - it was Uncle Samsung!

I assume by "making" you mean manufacturing.

but apple designed the SOC with the A9 as the architecture. Samsung just assembles them.

There's no answer to CoreAnimation on Gingerbread. There's no GPU acceleration for UI animations. It looks choppy. You just don't notice it.

Yeah the best part of the new iOS will be that orginal notifications bar at the top that you can scroll down. Oh wait doesn't Android already have that? That being said....both operating systems have their pros and cons. The new iOS 5 might have some improvements but so will Ice Cream Sandwich. I'd personally rather have something open source and not so controlled.

damn iFan is having an orgasm, we're just saying that iPhone need a bigger screen. how does android's fluidity come into play here?

Sorry - no bigger screen on this one. Too early to upgrade resolution - and very un-Apple to lower ppi.

Btw after trying Ubuntu (It's Awesome) I also understand that Apple didn't invent that Mac OS X software as well. Instead of buying an extremely overpriced macbook\pro\air - just install ubuntu on your laptop - even if it's far from being a hardware beast. If you really want you can install a Mac OSX theme for free.

The ONLY thing that Apple did do very right by themselves in this regard - and one to which I am yet to find and alternatives is iWork...

They should pay their factory workers MORE MONEY if it's such a highly difficult technical assembly project. And then pass those costs onto Apple.

Apple would never allow it. They're all about maximizing the cash going into their coffers, no matter what ethical price they pay.

Sniggly...I think you're mistaken...the iPhone is actually on top......you keep on talking about android like its a phone....android is a software (not a phone) that is used on hundreds of devices. So when you compare 1 phone to 100+ phones you're point sounds silly.

The reason the iPhone and Macs are shown on TV and in the Movies is because apple pays for the product placement.

Honestly I applaud google for the effort they've put into android but I think it would be a lot better if they had control of the phones they put their software on...no?

The iPhone is the top selling single model, yes, but that hardly matters. When it comes to smatlrtphones Android is the top operating system. That's what I'm talking about.

I think all of these 'rumors' are funny. They all contradict each other. Steve Jobs is laughing his ass of at all of these so called 'analysts'..no wonder it has the word 'anal' in it because they don't know s**t.

Yea man if you get angry from reading these comments then maybe you shouldn't read these comments. People come here to argue over phones because they think its fun, and thats what the comments section is for. Go complain on your local news site or something, then maybe you ca make a difference. Also who cares how thin the new iphone is cause it will never have anything on android. I would easily break a phone as thin as the phone in this articles picture. i like my 11mm thick atrix.

I say when apple finally breaks down and gets a contract with adobe flash instead of being "we're too good for that" idiots then they will have a product that will be superior to android until that day comes android will always come out on top.
