'Final' iPhone 8 design leak depicts 4mm bezels, tips $1100 release price

It seems that there might be about 4mm bezel all around the 5.8" panel of the soapy-shaped iPhone 8, in order to keep the user from inadvertent edge presses. The cutout at the top middle of the panel will host the physical sensors and cameras that usually reside at the front, while the rest is an active OLED panel to show battery, network, and other info that's found at the very top segment of our screens. Notifications and switches will likely be moved in the bottom "function" area of the display, along with on-screen buttons of sorts...

And I appreciate all the times you've told that to Mxyflashmite or Lumbergh in Samsung articles.

Doesn't matter how nice the phone looks if it's still saddled with a closed software architecture.

$1100 doing a straight conversion to CAD is about $1376. Condiering that Apple pads their prices after that, it will probably retail for about $1450 CAD. The current top price for an iPhone in Canada is $1309 for a 256GB iPnone 7 Plus. The price does seem plausible, but I would assume it comes stacked to the gills and there isn't some sort of "base model." I can't help but wonder if this deluxe model is going to kill demand for the 7s and 7s Plus, to the point that Apple will reduce the price on those models as an incentive to purchase.

An uglier shorter version of the GS8. Kind of like twins with the iPhone 8 being Danny devito and the gs8 being Arnold.

Hey, it's YOUR money, if you think ANY smartphone is worth that much, more power to ya! Not me! I typically wait til a "new model" comes out, then snap up last years new model for typically 1/2 the price. My Mate8 was less than 500 bucks. And, I have even a hard time paying that much for "a phone". Yeah yeah yeah...it's more than a phone, but you get my drift. The price of these things has reached a tipping point I HOPE, and maybe people will start to say nope to these overpriced things. Guess we'll see how many people are goofy enough to stand in line for one.

I'm seeing comments that state the typical "don't like the price, don't buy it" or "shut up complaining about the price", I have an advice for you, don't like what I have to say? ToughSh*t, this is a Comment Section where people share their thoughts, whether one agrees or disagrees, I wasn't going to buy the damn thing anyways, but that doesn't mean I'm going to change my views to appease yours. Embrace that there are different Opinions in the world and don't try to police people's views that is contrary to yours, or in other words Get over yourselves!

How dare Apple make a phone with bezels that are practical in everyday use? We want no bezels because it looks cool! Right fellow droids?

Translation: Whatever size bezels the iPhone has, I will defend to my last breath.

Question is, for $1100, so we get high speed 256GB, 4GB RAM and a camera that can shoot 4K 60fps? If not, that's unjustifiable.

I'm almost positive all of those things are going to be their. Apple may shortchange people in a lot of areas, but the things you mentioned are consumer necessities at this price range.

Not bad, but I hope that indentation is left out. Features features features Apple.

Credit where Credit is due it does look very nice to be honest, that's if this is indeed the actual phone.

Not bad at all, just a matter of what it will do. I got my must have, but this could be my dark horse. I doubt it though, cause Apple is holding back features to make the iPad more attractive. All that power the iPhone has, and they won't let er rip.

Yeah i know bro if only they would keep it the same throughout their ecosystem! I don't know if i could live with IOS cause I've never been to the other side lol. So many features missing compared to a Sammy device! Samsung just seems to bring me everything i want, but do admire how fast and smooth an iPhone is tho, although i suppose you can find a number of reports of Lag on both phones somewhere on the net. I'm waiting for the Note 8, and i shall be keeping an eye on the iPhone Pro/V30 to see if they can take it to Sammy, but i seriously doubt it!

I would like an all white device bro, but i know we are getting the black front. And you watch the iPhone Pro will come with an all white gloss f**ker, and it will look like a million bucks the bastards. lol

If the 8 starts out with 256gb, the price isn't so hard to swallow.

From this point on, I am referring to that *Large* Button located on the right-side of the phone... as the Power / FP Scanner Button. Unless someone can definitively prove otherwise. I am sure I am not alone in this.

No way that phone is starting at that price. Right? I think this is the rumored price just to weigh people's reactions to it, then when the starting price comes in at $100....maybe $200 less, people will automatically think it's a steal.

The Nokia E90 from early 2007 cost $1200 at launch, as I recall. I drooled over that phone for a while before I came across the Nokia N95. If only they had offered WCDMA 850 and 1900 MHz on the E90... I would have paid just about anything back then for that phone if it had only had US 3G support. Then the N95 came along for less than that, and with US 3G support, and I didn't have the money then... oh, the memories! But this, in our day, is crazy. Why are we letting Apple make it "normal" for people to shell out $1200 for a phone, when it was something incredibly rare and unusual, and for good reason, back ten years ago. Just because it is possible doesn't make it right.

This is a bad leak, because the signal bars are iOS 10 look alike (the next iPhones will be coming with iOS 11, which has different signal bars). Also, the notification bar (or whatever the name) should have a space for BT or alarm icons - this one does not.
