'Final' iPhone 8 design leak depicts 4mm bezels, tips $1100 release price

It seems that there might be about 4mm bezel all around the 5.8" panel of the soapy-shaped iPhone 8, in order to keep the user from inadvertent edge presses. The cutout at the top middle of the panel will host the physical sensors and cameras that usually reside at the front, while the rest is an active OLED panel to show battery, network, and other info that's found at the very top segment of our screens. Notifications and switches will likely be moved in the bottom "function" area of the display, along with on-screen buttons of sorts...

The competition are constantly trying to major devices that will draw users over. That's kind of the point of competing.

Autcorrect did not replace the word 'is' with 'are'.

No, because that would be incorrect. There are multiple competitors. Competition is plural in this sentence.

Of course the competition is trying but so far without success. That is what I am complaining about. Trying is not good enough.

Not sure about phone of the year with note 8 and Pixel XL 2. Maybe phone of the moment.

Why are you so mad, bro? Just do what you have done so far - don't buy an iPhone - and you'll be good, you'll be safe of Apple's "greed", you won't need to use the "lightning crap" and you'll save a lot of money.

This phone is absolutely gorgeous...! Looks WAY better than... You know who...!!! The one with supermodel like figure and a ghastly, appalling curved display... Bravo, Apple...! Although I'll take back my words if this render turns out to be false and the price-tag turns out to be true... G'Day!™

Looks nice. Could pass for an Android phone now because it looks so un-apple-ish.

Yeah its cut out but if they keep the battery/time/signal notifications on a black background it looks much better

I do like it like this as well, much better than having the wallpaper all the way to the top. But there isn't much room for all possible icons that could go in that bar

We will see. I can't wait to see all the fans justify the iPhone cost vs the S7 edge which was only $779 on some carriers. I don't know how expensive AR is. But its been around, just not on phones. VR on mobile I assume is more expensive than VR on desktop. But I found Google's and Samsung's implementation of VR to be boring. Even though I have several Gear VR's, I don't use them. In fact they are so boring I forget I have them. We are gifting them to my wife;s family at XMAS. I also assume this new wireless charging, which Qualcomm already has is expensive too?! But its not $1100 expensive. Both Samsung and Apple are gettign way out of hand on costs, but at leats Samsung tried to provide some justification. Even if the Note 8 is $950, it will still do more than the iPhone 8 at $1100 and I feel the Note 8 won't be worth $950. Even though I loved my Note 7's, I felt they were not worth $850. $750 would have been a better cost considering the S7 edge costs. I realize Samsung licenses WACOM tech, but Samsung also has a 5% stake in the company bottomline. So even though Samsung license the tech, they also get a percentage of what WACOM makes from it too.

A reasonable statement. I think that no flagship smartphone is worth its price tag but obviously, people have been willing to pay that much so far (including us). Well, in the Android world a consumer can at least wait a certain amount of time so that pricing for a smartphone comes down. Unfortunately, this does not work in the iOS world. Apple is just too powerful with its hardware/ software combination. I can only hope that Microsoft fights its way back into the smartphone business and that Google succeeds with project treble so that Apple will have a harder time playing its software card.

Fans justify iphone's exorbitant price as they have silly excuses like higher resale value after 6 months, longer software support, excellent customer service. As long as ifans keep making such excuses, only god can predict the future price of iphones. My biggest worry is that due to iphone's high price policy, even android manufacturers increase price.

You do realize that after I bought my first iPhone I get a free one every 2 years from my carrier with the same price plan? 1.1k dollars is expensive, but a JetBlack 256 GB iPhone 7 Plus is 1.2k euro; if this phone is going to have all the features that leaked, the price might be justified (I said "might be").

funny how suddenly the price is not high for some guys around or for PA. :)) When note 8 was announced with 900$ price tag people were spitting and cursing.. now with Iphone.. !? meh!

Everyone has different opinions. Plus, everyone commenting here might not have commented on the Note 7 article. I hope you meant the Note 7..............not Note 8, since the latter hasn't been announced.

If there ever was a reason to camp out on the streets for an iPhone, this is it.

You'll need to camp out, as you won't be able to pay your rent after you drop $1,100 - $1,200 on the phone.
