From what I heard, K1 is on par with Qualcomm's chips, but also why I said as long as they keep improving, it will happen.

You buy a chip solution from a manufacturer, put it in your product and sell it. The manufacturer chip solutions now infringed on a patent by some other manufacturer. Why should you pay for the infringement? That manufacturer should pay for it. Simple logic.

Exactly. If it worked that way, all of us who bought a infringing smartphone would be obliged to pay Nvidia as well for their patents. Stupid thing.

This is what happens when no one wants Tegra chips in their phones anymore, because Tegra is crap, so they sue to force Tegra on them. Anyway, it's true, they should have gone after Qualcomm instead, not like Samsung has any say or choice in what GPU to use lol

Samsung always refusing to pay for patents. Just license and pay like everybody else. They want to throw everything including the kitchen sink into their services but don't want to pay to license the services used. Samsung is too much of a liability for me to buy their product. JUST PAY UP

"Samsung is too much of a liability for me to buy their product." And yet WP is on the verge of closing up shop in a few years if things dont get better....just like BB is/was...and like Palm did. Ask Palm, Pre users what was more of a liability...a platform, OEM that is actually selling in the public eye or one about to be extinct. Just like using Android isnt a liability for the user. Will it be in the future? Who knows...just like with Samsung. Now if you partnered with Samsung like Google does....that would be different. Just like some OEM's probably think using Android is a liability based on the many lawsuits and payments to MS.

Nice Nvidia. If you asked them to pay and they refused .you have the right to sue them.

When Apple successfully sued Samsung for the Galaxy Nexus software, a device that Google made the software for, you knew other companies would try to capitalize on the stupidity of the American jury. Samsung is just buying the parts, they should have nothing to do with what their suppliers do.
