The NVIDIA Tegra Note tablet has been officially introduced by the silicon slinger; consider the specs. A 7 inch screen with resolution of 1280 x 800 adorns the slab which has 16GB of native storage and a microSD slot to expand it. A "groundbreaking" camera is included along with an audio system that produces a wide range of sound...

1280x800? It already failed. 7" is a failure too in my opinion.

We need a new class of 8" or 9" tablets. 7" tablets, in my opinion are too close to the phablets that are becoming more and more popular. I know since I bought my Note 2, I haven't touched my Nook tablet.

I would be much more excited about the prospect of a 8" tablet with a 1920 screen.

despite the 1200 x 800 resolution its going to be a big hit. If they can market it properly. It may not have the screens of some of the other tablets but its powered by a tegra 4 and there HDR optimized software. Ill bite. Now if they will make a 10 inch version.

For $30 more, I can get a Nexus 7 with a 1080p screen, instant updates, and dual stereo speakers.

And I like how they're using the 'Note' name from Samsung.

This appears to have dual-stereo speakers as evident by the pictures. They're also front facing ones, which a lot of people tend to like over rear or side facing ones.

The downfall is, of course, the screen. However, I think it will still be a great device and they may drop the price down further if it doesn't sell too well in the beginning.

I also agree with the previous person that the stylus is a nice bonus depending on if it comes with native applications that support it or not.

Lower res = better for mobile gaming devices. It is much harder to push 1920x1080 than 1280x800, it is around 1000 pixels more.

I'm a little confused... then this tablet is just a concept for other manufacturers? or its going to by sold by others who will use the hardware only? or the only point of using the Tegra branding is to sell their processor?
I ask this cause i would intend to buy it if/when its available

It's a reference device. They ship it to OEMs and then OEMs just slap their logo on it.
