I doubt this is one of HTCs top tier phones for 2012. I hope not anyhow! Hopefully this is a mid level aimed phone as the specs are distinctly 2011 and the design is almost 2010.

HTC has hit a spot of bother recently due to a little bit of a sales slump and its due to the likes of the phone you see above, they released phone after phone with very little difference all looking the same, hopefully in 2012 this won't be the same of they'll end up the new apple using incremental change in their models

The 4 buttons at the bottom do look very much last year. I wouldn't doubt if this is just an old phone set to get ICS...

This is another fail. HTC reinvents the EVO 4G at least once a week. This will be yet another low def small screen.

HTC, please don't recycle designs anymore if if you do, make it like some weird neverbefore seen- people watch you us it-they trip and fall type of device. I love you with all my might but you got to pull something out of the gaps of your teeth.

HTC sense makes Android Ice Cream Sandwich look so Froyoish'.
They should either do away with the Sense UI or Make it ICSish

I always wished Sense had an expandable dock bar... but now that it does, it just looks like someone through ADW on top of it...

If this is the change HTC had in mind then they need to just give up now and expect even greater losses in the future.

From the pictures that 4G LTE logo looks to be from Verizon.

An observant eye you have there! This phone seems more and more Verizon-bound.

Why is it said that: Although this ICS-powered HTC phone looks very similar to some other models by the company (and that's not really a good thing), i always loved HTC design.

Same as AACarter. It looks like Verizon's 4G logo, and like the Incredible.

So, my guess would be it's a refreshed Incredible LTE.

I don't get why htc has a stable version of ics and sense but won't release the update to phones that are stronger than the one shown like my rezound?

because each phone is different, the rezound came out before ics. there are some good ics sense roms on xda, thats the advantage of htc and their big development scene.

This to me seems like a Rezound with ICS and Sense 4.0. Since most of the manufactures said that they will not be putting out as many devices this year including HTC. Wonder if Verizon will get a Quad-core device from HTC by 2nd or 3rd quarter.

more junk from HTC. mid ranged compared with everything that's about to launch. lets call it the sensation LTE. here comes the bad battery life train. woot. I hope this is just a left over and not what they have in mind to "fix the company "

I would say more junk from Verizon and not HTC. Verizon picks what phones they want on their network.

You are correct in that it will be midrange. I'm betting it's the Droid Incredible 3. The reason I believe it's that and not a Rezound 2 is the cpu & ffc are not as high as what's on the Rezound.

Also, Verizon said that all of their smartphones going forward will be LTE capable. So that means that the new models of last years top tier 3G phones will be LTE. We've already seen this with the Droid4. So add this as the DInc3, and all that's left is a DX3 with LTE.

The thing is not every phone can be a top tier device, because not everyone will buy one. Case in point the others on my share plan. While they want a smartphone, they can't afford $199, so they go with one that's been out awhile and was midrange to start with (2 Stratospheres, 1 Inc1, & 1 Inc2). There's a reason carriers still carry dumbphones, either they don't want or can't afford a smartphone.

As far as junk, I've never had any major issues with any of my HTC phones (Inc1 & 2, & Rezound). I've managed to get battery life on par with phones from other OEMs that are similarly specced. The only repair I had to do was an amoled screen for my Inc1 after a nephew got ahold of it and started banging the screen against his forehead. But the glass/digitizer didn't crack.

If you want junk talk about an LG Ally. One of the ones who now has a Stratosphere had that, it got dropped & shattered the digitizer. Happened right at a year old, went to get it repeaired and come to find that they aren't making repair parts for it anymore (unless you count cheap china parts on ebay). So either upgrade or wait for the shop to get in a used one with a good digitizer.

it's probably the Droid Incredible 3 and i'm sure HTC will have an event for the EU version pretty soon like they usually do.

If HTC wants to make a phone that will stand out from the crowd a bit, I propose that they come out the the 'Aria 2'. The trend today is toward bigger and bigger, but the Aria was a great LITTLE phone that packed a lot of power for it's size, and it's trackball was a feature that I wish more Android phones had.
And it fit comfortably in my pocket, too.
