No matter what Apple comes out with in a "low cost" device, it will behind behind technology-wise in today's standards and made of parts that cost really cheap, but charge consumers a lot more or a premium price to maximize profit... Don't be a fool! This is how the company works and there are some (fanboys) who will always buy their products no matter what, but others (true technology fans) are smart enough not to buy this crap.... Hence, Apple's downward spiral keeps going.

It doesn't matter how "substandard" their devices may be... as long as they serve to offer convenience, and a simplicity that offers only a few easy choices, people will crave them and line the sidewalks to obtain them on release day. It doesn't matter how overpriced and cheaply made they are... if they do what most iPhones have always done (that is, remain simple, and remain free of tough choices to be made, while looking smooth and pretty), then it is a no-brainer and will sell very well... even though people already KNOW it is priced at a premium, and often buy it BECAUSE it is priced so.

What if Apple doesn't care about trying to cater to emerging markets? This $200 iPhone idea, though it looks cool on paper and fits a nice niche in the accounting math, could all end up being some analyst's big ol' pipe-dream...
