Motorola RAZR phones back on sale

The ultra-thin Motorola RAZR mobile phones, which were pulled out of sales channels by Cingular and T-Mobile USA last week, are slowly returning to retail stores. The sales were suspended because of a manufacturing defect in GSM models released last month, which caused the devices unexpectedly to drop calls or reset themselves. Cingular Wireless' spokesman confirmed that they have received new shipments, although they are not enough and the sales are resumed only in a limited number of stores. T-Mobile USA has also received fixed versions of the RAZR and plans to start selling the device again later this week.

The CDMA version of the RAZR, offered by Verizon Wireless, is unaffected.
