Motorola Moto X press render leaks

For those of you waiting for the Motorola Moto X, here is a nice way to start the weekend; a press render of the eagerly awaited handset was leaked and shows that the phone is ready for its expected August 1st introduction. As we told you previously, this is not a Times Square scream it from the sky type of announcement. Motorola will hold five separate sessions with the press and the embargo will expire at 3pm EDT...

Looks nice. Following the design language of GneX and nexus4. But I would skip this to get next neXus. I really hope moto makes a come back to the international markets. With Google leading the way this could be a huge hit in emerging markets like India if priced and marketed right. This can be the return of the moto with an X factor.

I was thinking the same thing. It's not hard to see where the design came from.

a little hint: if you import the press image in a graphics editor like and measure its dimensions, you get Screen: 3,7 inches, 3,5 inches without software buttons seems like the pictures shows its real dimension. Height: ~4 inches widht: ~2 inches

I got 2.55421053 inches for width.(haven't done height) It has a 4.7 inch display, at a 9:16 ratio screen, which is 58.42mm wide, the screen measures 190 pixels across, while the entire phone is 211 pixels across. 58.42mm/190pixels=0.3074736842105263mm per pixelX211 pixels=64.87694736842105= 2.55421053 in inches. Still doesn't sound like the right dimensions to me mind you, maybe the picture isn't accurate, or maybe I'm just working it out completely wrong. :P

this video will give you a better idea about the length and width of the screen and phone in general , if you pause it at 1:24 it will be side by side with the iphone 5 , plus, the video also have english transcript.

Now I just hope that the display is non-pentile and by some miracle is less than 66mm wide.

if the updates really are handled by Google (or at least a promise by Moto that they'll give the finger in the middle to the carriers and update on their own schedule) and the price is below $400 then i'll probably be getting this. oh and the battery is another factor too.

Looks plasticy as a Samsung (which I don't mind) but why would I choose this over the Htc One?

1. Price 2. Vanilla Android 3. Better camera

1.) price.... I agree this will be cheaper and it should be considering the package. 2.) I prefer sense over stock to be honest.. Stock is even more generic looking than it needs to be. 3.) how do you know this? I've yet to see them compared.

Whats the difference between the motorala X customization and a ROM built around maximum customization?

hardware customization and software customization. with this you get the best of both worlds. ;]

Between the Motorola Moto X, HTC One Mini, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini & the alleged iPhone lite models, I think the Moto X would compete well if in fact it's able to remain cheaper and it just might while offering users to make the phone more personal to them. With 500mil allotted for marketing this phone, it's gonna be an interesting summer. The screen size is just perfect and with those small bezels, It might end up being even smaller than the competition I mentioned above while having a larger screen than those.

A nice hybrid of Samsung Galaxy phones & Moto Defy phones... Ain't it???

It looks okay. There doesn't appear to be anything special or distinctive about it. Perhaps the multi color option would help.

The design looks nice but not a fan of the specs or moto in general.
