Motorola Moto G to be launched by U.S. Cellular next week?

0. phoneArena posted on 06 Feb 2014, 14:37

U.S. Cellular could become the third US carrier to directly sell Motorola's affordable smartphone. It should release it on February 10 for a price that hasn't been revealed...

I love my Moto G. I can't wait until they release a new one later on with 4g and a 5" screen ;)

Already received Kit Kat and my phone lasted about 20 hours with Moderate to heavy usage on wifi. The screen was on for 4.5hrs! That was from a battery half full. The first phone I was actually trying to kill the battery on.

I don't see Motorola selling any back "shells" in the market. All they have is the black one that came with the package which sucks.

What are you talking about? The back shell is fine. No different than any other rubberized back shell. What's wrong with it? I'm looking at getting one myself.

I'm talking about the color choices of shells. Where I live, stores only sell Moto Gs with black colored shells but I understand Motorola sell colored shells you can buy seperatley. I wanted the Emerald Green.

Yeah. You have to think of this in a business point of view. If they offered different colored Moto Gs, it would cut into their profits by having to package, ship, meet demand of all the different color variations. By selling them seperately, it is a lot easier to control the sales of the back covers seperately and meet the demand of each one. If they offered the Moto Gs already with the back covers installed, then they would have some of the less popular colors sitting on shelves. They might do it later on when the cost of the handset is cheaper to produce, but as of now, this is the best marketing strategy while still offering a choice to the consumer.
