Released last month as one of Motorola's cheapest smartphones ever, the Moto E4 is currently sold for around $100 if you're buying it unlocked, or just $69.99 if you want to get it from Verizon. Starting July 31, the handset will be available for even less thanks to MetroPCS (T-Mobile's prepaid brand).

MetroPCS will sell the Moto E4 for only $49 (plus tax) after rebate, no contract required. Or, if you switch to MetroPCS with a qualifying number, you'll be able to get the new phone for free (after instant rebate) plus tax.

The Moto E4 is definitely a product that's worth $49 (and more) if all you need is a reliable LTE smartphone with no bells and whistles. Running Android 7.1 Nougat, the E4 is splash and spill resistant, and offers all-day battery life. Other features include a 5-inch 720p display, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable storage space, and a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor. Moreover, the handset has an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera, both with LED flash.

MetroPCS will offer the Motorola Moto E4 online (see the first source link below) and via "participating locations" across the US. To find out more about the smartphone and why we think it's a solid product in its price range, check out our Motorola Moto E4 review.
