Cheaper service? You have to pay an extra 10 dollars a month for 4G which only a handful of people can actually use.

Tell me where Sprint has the exact (EXACT) same coverage map as Verizon, I will switch tomorrow. Not here in my parts, son...get your facts straight. The Evo to Sprint is like driving a Lamborghini on doughnuts and being told you can never put real tires on the car...not cool.

I'm sorry to say but that extra $10 fee is in fact to pay for 4G service even if it is not in your area. The fact that you do not know this is proof you have been living under a rock the past several months. Even the CFO from Sprint came out and expalined why the fee is being charged for Anyone who purchased an Evo. His reason basically was to help cover the cost of the new 4G technology aswell as it's ability to consume larger amounts of data. I Usually don't ever agree with VZ bloggers but have to when they are right.

I have the Sprint EVO and Verizon Incredible. Sprint has the ability to share ALL towers with VZW. If Sprint will not get a signal, they roam for free on VZW. So TECHNICALLY they have the same coverage.

And with that $10 extra dollars, it's still cheaper than Verizon, as well as having uncapped data usage with either 3 or 4g, unlimited GPS through either Telenav or Google, unlimited texting, and unlimited mobile to mobile calling with any carrier. Good for Verizon for having a competing phone though. Competition is best for everyone, first and foremost the consumer.

The Droid (1) has an FM radio chipset. WHY could they not enable that in the Froyo update is beyond me.

yea but its still 3G so that means it sucks.. 4G is coming out just before Xmas and way nicer phones with the 4g net work you can take out your Sim card and have any 4G phone to work with it so you can change around from any 4G phone cools

you guys are all idiots, the evo is the most bad ass phone currently on the market and im using 4g right now... its awesome... untill your plans offer comparable service and data speeds anywhere close to 4g for anywhere even close to the same type of pricing, you cant talk. Im sure once you get 4g youll pay much more money.... good luck

I'm paying full retail as well, if you're spending $500+ for a phone you're really worried about a $30 price difference?

You VZW fan boys are just as bad as the Apple fan boys. Sprint offers the best bang for your buck. $70 gets you unlimited calling to any mobile number plus unlimeted everything else. Verizons comparable plan only offers unlimited calling. Sprints unlimited everything costs $99. Verizons costs $120. You do the math. The hotspot charge for the Evo is $30. For Verizon its $40. Even with the extra $10 charge for 4g Sprints plan still comes out cheaper, costing $240 less over the cost of a contract than Verizons plans. The Evo is a superior phone to any phone on vzw's network. I've had Sprint for years and have never had coverage problems. I've also had Verizon(I carry 2 devices at all times) and its 3g coverage is shitty outside of Manhattan. Go into the Bronx, Brooklyn, Long Island, Staten Island or Queens and 3g quickly drops out on vzw. And forget about New Jersey! On Sprint, full coverage in all of those places. IMO, Sprint is a better service provider. The only carrier who matches Sprint in bang for your buck is Tmobile.
