0. phoneArena posted on 26 Aug 2011, 04:45

A few photos have now emerged that show the battery meter at different stages during a DROID BIONIC usage. Up to the 60% mark the phone had been hooked up to Verizon's 3G network, and lasted about 15 hours...

any pictures on the vigor? i'm really hoping it is a slider with a physical qwerty keyboard, if it is and it has the dual core 1.5 ghz, its mine for sure. I will not be buying the bionic upon release like i did the original droid.

The test means nothing without actually power usage. If I throw my Droid Charge on 3G and then at 50% I flip it back on 4G, just leaving the phone on the table doing absolutely nothing like this guy, the dang thing still lasts about 19-20 hours. Any phone'll do that unless it has a problem...

"most likely on standby" - Use your brain to figure that out?

"I will not be buing the bionic upon release like i did the original droid" - Because the longer wait has just made you jaded and a crowd follower? Would you rather have a rushed out piece of garbage? Has HTC had the best rap, or Samsung to that matter with a fascinate? But you want them to put out devices asap!!! Backwards thinking my friend.

"The test means nothing without actually power usage" - despite the fact that it is kind of an arbitrary test with it not being used, your point is just an of an angry stance with poor justification because your charge will sit for 19-20 hours, 4-6 hours shorter.

So much hate on this phone when people should put a little more faith in the extra time it's been given to make it work properly. Big deal Vigor and others will be 1.5 or something of that variant. It'll eat up more power, get hotter faster, work slower faster, and leave you complaining quicker as people do now about their thunderbolt and charge. If you want to leave a comment, do it intelligently, not so you're filling up the interwebs with drivvel.

so i am not sure why you are so angry, but you need to calm down a little bit. No, the reason i wont buy it on release is becuase i have had 4 droids becuase the first ones had too many buggy issues and i still feel like i got a bad one. and no, i am waiting patiently for the bionic, but the longer they make me wait, the better other competitors specs get. Why would i buy a phone with significantly worse specs just becuase they put more time into it? HTC in my personal experience has the same rap as Moto, i have had both and i dont see one shining above the other. what i want, is for a company that presents an item to not wait over 6 months to actually have that item ready for sale, that doesnt seem too unreasonable, forward thinking chief

mOtO's got this right. Battery life for me trounces fancy UIs like HTC sense, Samsung and such. I want/need a phone with a battery that lasts as long as possible. There's some comfort knowing that my phone won't die before the end of the day of heavy usage...esp when there's no socket to plug a charge in and I am waiting for a very important call/email/sms or need to use the Maps/Internet/e t c.

These are bogus tests that don't mimic real world examples. This phone sat idly by not being used at all. For any phone the largest power use is the display everytime. On these tests, its the fourth largest use. My OG evo last about three days just sitting there with wifi on.

I think people are overplaying the need for stellar battery life. Sure, its an annoyance, but really, just get a spare battery. It takes a whole MINUTE to change the battery and have the phone rebooted. Holy Crap that was easy and look, my phone's battery is at 100%.

Battery life should be important for iPhone users. Android, WP7, BB users really shouldn't give a crap about 24 hour battery life.

Edit: The Display is the third largest battery consumer in these tests. My point is still valid.

I had been down on this phone for a while but now seriously thinking it'll be the best overall thing out there this year.

The battery life seems excellent for LTE and will likely be untouchable by other LTE phones.

The OMAP is a great processor and is likely 20-25% faster than other procs at the same clock. The GPU is older design but at a blistering clock. It looks to perform.

Sure it's not SAMOLED but it's fricken bright enough to see out in the sun and that's a problem even on the Charge.

It has an indicator light. Brilliant!

It looks to have great build quality and inductive charging which hopefully they'll toss in.

I'll wait for it to be rooted and watch the leaks on the Vigor and Prime but I think the Bionic is going to be a winner.

I'm hoping by January price will come down a bit. With more powerful 4G phones hitting shelves. I can't see the $299 price staying there long.

I don't see it falling beyond $249 for a while though.

I think the Droid Bionic is going to be great when it comes out. So since the battery lasts a pretty long time, there should be more than juice to last a full day. I like to stream movies so a phone that can keep up with me and my streaming needs. The app that I use to stream is the DISH Remote Access app. I love this app because it lets me stream movies and TV shows anywhere I am! As a customer and employee of DISH Network, I have been using the DISH Remote Access app for a long time on my previous phone, and I know that it is going to work great on the Bionic once I get it!
