Moto X size comparison: excellent phone-to-screen size ratio

0. phoneArena posted on 01 Aug 2013, 15:46

Upwards of 70%, we might be looking at one the best phone-to-screen-size ratios with the Moto X, and Motorola explained how it achieved that barely visible bezel. It stretches edge-to-edge, they say, molded carefully at the ends to fuse with the front housing for a seamless look and "the perfect balance between readability and one-handed use..."

The bezel on the HTC One is too big. It's a beautiful phone, but HTC could have made the size and top bezel a lot smaller.

Agreed, make the bezel smaller and just use software buttons. The HTC One was so close to being the perfect phone too :/

Literally just the bezel and the camera needed to be 8 megapixels for detail and it would have been perfect.

I think that Xperia ZL is better looking.

We all know, but PA keep "forgetting" about that phone in the photos comparos...seems that they dont like to remember that a Sony Phone is the best in screen size ratio.

They did a good job with the packaging - the phone will compete with both much larger (One) and much smaller (iPhone 5) devices. Price it right and they could have a solid hit.

Goal achieved. This phone won't overshadow the OEM's flagships but will keep them on their toes. If Google was to release the best Android phone ever, and repeat the process over and over, Android would probably die. Last thing Google needs to be for the OEM's is a threat.

Meanwhile, if you want it, Moto just released a great phone that you can be happy with.

doesnt the s4 have the best screen to bezel ratio, i read that the s4 covers around 77% of the front with a screen and thats with a phone that has physical buttons that make it even that more impressive imo..most of the the phones that have a high screen to bezel ratio are phones with on screen buttons which again makes it easier to do so.

Yes the S4 is still the best, it is pretty impressive that it has the highest and it still has captive touch buttons.

no. the xperia zl still holds the crown. the zl is still smaller than the s4 despite being a 5-incher.

I think the information that you get, it's wrong the screen to bezel ratio of S4 is only around 72%.
just try to calculate it, or you can use phonearena size comparison tool so you can get a clue about the difference size of the bezel, between the Xperia ZL and S4.

5.6mm is hardly take thin... the Ascend Mate side trim edges are about 5.5mm.

S4 wins simply because it is 7.9 mm thin and has a 2600 mah battery. It is easy to make a phone small when the battery is small and the phone is thick. The GS4 literally has nothing left to shave off without making the battery smaller or the screen smaller.

With the ZL and Moto X you can shave the thickness down plenty.

The Moto X is pretty shaved down. The taper is 5.6mm to 10.4mm. They actually have the battery in the curve. It's not just empty space.
