Moto G6 Plus benchmark listing reveals Snapdragon 660 and more

Until today, it was previously thought that Motorola’s G6 Plus would utilize Qualcomm’s slightly less powerful Snapdragon 630 chipset, due to the fact that last year’s G5 Plus and G5S Plus used the Snapdragon 625 processor. Thanks to a new Geekbench listing, however, it appears Motorola has instead opted to equip the smartphone with the higher-end octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor, although the multi-core score obtained of 4123 is pretty low for this chipset. In any case, 4GB of RAM will once again be making a return alongside what will most likely be 64GB of internal storage, although it’s worth noting that a 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM is to be expected. Anyhow, in addition to all of this, as expected from any Motorola release, the smartphone will be running stock Android 8.0 Oreo straight out of the box. Design-wise, the new Motorola-branded device will keep the glass build that debuted on last year’s Moto G5S line, while stretching the screen to a 5.7-inch, 18:9 panel, which also means that both reduced top and bottom bezels will be present, the latter of which will include a front-facing fingerprint scanner.

In terms of the camera department, a main 12-megapixel sensor is rumored to be present on the rear accompanied by a secondary 5-megapixel lens. Also, a 16-megapixel selfie camera will be featured up front alongside an LED flash. The Moto G6 Plus is currently set to launch on April 19 alongside the regular Moto G6 and the budget Moto G6 Play, although an exact release date is yet to be confirmed by Motorola.
