More details about the launch of Treo 700w

The first Treo handset, based on Windows Mobile – Treo 700w – was expected to be launched by Verizon Wireless in the beginning of January as phonearena.com informed earlier this month. Now a Verizon employee revealed on Howardforums the exact date as well as pictures of the documents confirming January 5th 2006 as the release date. He also published the specification list of the device. The main features of the Treo 700w are:

  • 240x240 color TFT touchscreen display
  • back-lit QWERTY keyboard
  • Bluetooth
  • built-in 1.3-megapixel camera with video capture
  • EV-DO high-speed data
  • Windows Media Player 10
  • SD/MMC memory expansion slot
  • IR/USB port
  • built-in speakerphone

 

 

Consumers will be able to acquire the Treo 700w through all channels for $619.99 or for $499.99 after a rebate with two-year contract.
