To me the difference between a tablet and a phone is screen size. And that's why I feel tablets are useless. But the surface Pro proves me wrong. I believe a tablet should be a mini computer and the pro proves me right. If all angles are nailed right MS is beginning a race the other companies will be following very soon. And it maybe difficult for them to catch up cos ms has already taken the lead. I sold my iPad 3 when I heard of the 4.realised some of these companies are beginning to take we consumers for granted. Am keeping my money waiting for the Pro. At least I know am buying a PC and not a toy.

What about the other Windows 8 tablets ?
Like Samsung Ativ Smart PC, Asus Vivo Tab, HP Envy X2 and Dell XPS 12 Convertible ?

I found all of these are so awesome but expensive. However, you can use it as a tablet and laptop simultaneously.

It wasn't until I checked out the Microsoft Surface was that I was opened up to the idea of a tablet. I honestly feel like tablets now are nothing more than just giant smartphones and are more of novelty more than anything. One thing I love about Windows 8 hardware is that many OEMs are entering this dual laptop/tablet hybrid market. "Laptop when you need it, tablet when you want it."

I've had the Surface RT for two days and I'm rather impressed. As long as these updates keep coming, Microsoft should have a very happy consumer.

Folks this is the thing that makes the "Surface Windows RT " worth buying, because before any high class developers want to make software for a product they want to know if it's going to be around in the market place for years with support from it's creator. although the Windows "Surface RT" OS will run only the apps that are in it's store like the IPADS and Android tablets do.The Microsoft Surface RT app store will grow fast now that the developers community know Microsoft will support the surface for at least 4 years. It means if you already bought one keep it. Microsoft will update it's software to make it run better than it does now and over the years you will get plenty of NEW APPS. Folks please remember that only the Windows 8 or Windows 8 PRO tablets can run old style Windows 7, or Vista or XP programs the Windows RT tablets only run the APPS that are in it's "STORE" nothing else at this time.

Folks also be aware of the fact that Microsoft never said the Windows 8 or 8 PRO "Surface" Tablet computers were made to replace a Laptop or desktop computer but are made so you can occasionally use any full Windows Legacy desktop or laptop software that you desire to put in them. a Windows 8 or 8 PRO Tablet computer will require a mouse and Keyboard to Properly use Windows 7, or Vista or Windows XP Or Windows 2000 Programs because folks they were not designed to work on a touch screen USER interface. Now that you realize this truth. you can use a Windows 8 or 8 pro Tablet computer without hesitations.
