Neither of which is running an I5. Both are running atom processors which, quite frankly, stink... neither has a 1080p display... and I wouldn't wipe my a** with anything made by HP. I would like the Asus if it had a better processor.

$100 less and i would be sold on it. I'm just curious about battery life and performance. as much as i want to jump on a full os tab bandwagon i think i'll sit out the first round and wait for the price to drop

Memory size (RAM) out of the box? I'm guessing 4GB out of the box upgradable to 8GB or 16GB max?

interesting how some are stating it should be priced lower comparing it to tablets when its more of an ultrabook without a keyboard like someone mentioned. you cant please every one. the pricing seems reasonable, if it were lower it would be right behind rt prices

This cannot be compared with tablets. Its better. This is to compete with ultrabooks and mac airs.

I remember when you could buy terabytes for peanuts. What the hell happened?

You still can buy terrabytes for peanuts. Just not in a Surface Pro. Maybe in a Surface Pro 2.0

Where are the tablets with 3G or LTE?! I heard about two of them back in October that were going to go to AT&T but frankly that's not good enough. If i'm going to spend $1000 on a Windows 8 Pro tablet it better have a wireless radio otherwise I might as well buy an ultrabook and use my phone's WiFi hotspot.

That's great, Im glad I didn't purchase the RT version just yet. I normally get things around the time they first come out, but I guess patients is a virtue in this case.

So its way out of tablet price range...hmm...anyway...It'll thrash any other tablet out there performance wise...will wait for reviews.

They should have priced both the versions $100 less, or to make it a good looking deal at this price point, they should have also thrown touch/type covers free with them.......... Hope they will do this by the time they launch this in January.......
