I almost did, got an asus 10.1, windows 8.1 tablet instead because of refurbrished pricing. It is a terrific unit, with other circumstances would have had me pick up a surface.

I mean everytime when I tried to buy a surface, microsoft announce a new surface. This is a fast cycle of tablet launch and MS is not known for fast releases. Not to mention how horrible the sales numbers were for surface 1 and 2.

Considering now there's a Surface Pro Version 2 out there with a better processor inside than what originally shipped, they scare there potential buyers away cause of buyer's remorse. Least for me. I want one, but I feel i'd buy it and something would change next month with it.

at double the price to, with the pro you are getting a pc not really a tablet, or a full blown pc in tablet form.

While with the surface, you are getting RT, the Arm version. If you have used a droid or ipad tablet it is the same as going from a pc - droid or imac to ipad. As well the surface 2 or even surface, can more than hold its own against other 'real tablets' with hits hardware support that other tablets simply dont have, mainly full usb.
