Yeah I have to echo that because I was debating between getting Windows 8 tablet or Android tablet, and I mean I love android! But I wanted office on a tablet really bad so I was leaning towards Windows but now I might just get an Android tablet! Thank you!!!

@CellularNinja: Pls. delete your comment Coz once MS will see & read it, they might change their mind and will not release an android version :P

Kind of slipped a bit.... I seem to recall a schedule for iOS availability around mid-November, 2012.

After the last "stab" in the back with the faulty update that bricked half the Nokias world-wide, I calculate that by 2013 Q2 symbian will be already abandoned by frustrated users...
I bet that Nokia (with their actions) is trying to squeeze the last Symbian fans out of the platform just like one tries to squeeze the last drop of the toothpaste in the tube. Such a shame.

the faulty update that bricked half the Nokias world-wide,stab in the back ?????!
do u have a symbian phone????!!!! i do and all what u say is crap
belle fp2 (i use 603) is awesome(the new gestures ,new browser that has alot better performance, the new music player and lots of other) and it really made the os more modern.
the only faulty is nokia music(music store) and it was solved this week(just a week after the first release of belle fp2) and belle fp2 is back on the update channels
actually i was going to upgrade this month from my 603 and leave symbian for good but with this update, nokia made me stay on my 603(belle) for some while opposing to what u say :
" Nokia (with their actions) is trying to squeeze the last Symbian fans out of the platform".
and btw if nokia screwed nokia music in their update(and solved it shortly after),google screwed the signal reception of samsung galaxy nexus in an update not so while ago !!!!!!!

You are kidding right, the reason why I left nokia is symbian, then I started buying sony Ericsson and I stopped because they released a symbian phone, the satio, worst OS ever, Id never use it again... Slow and frustrating.. Thats why nokia lost most of their customers, from being the top manufacturer to third..

I own a PureView 808, and I have to inform you that I really adore Symbian OS (Nokia OS).
When the Belle FP2 rolled out, the first thing I did was to go to Nokia Forums and read opinions of ppl who updated, and then decide what to do.
I have to tell you, there were MANY MANY cases of ppl who bricked their phones during the procedure, and it was proved to be Nokia's fault. Ppl who had succeded had other issues with the UI, Nokia Music and some with the gallery.
When a company shows no respect to their supporter, its like telling them to f*** off. Nokia wasnt like that at all. On the contrary, Nokia had the best software support for mobile phones (according to me of course).
I will personally never trust Nokia again like I did the past 3-4 years. They simply do not care about Symbian users anymore, cant you see?

actually symbian still outsold WP worldwide! this just mean than WP dont get love very fast even with nokia!

so elop should listen to the sales!!! he should go after the countrys/places where symbian and nokia is a big deal! and continue the support to symbian and make a major Revamp!

the wrong move by nokia and elop is that they concentrate to a market(US) that only a few love them and forget the market(Europe and Asia) that love them so much!

symbian is still one of the best! the belle is comparable to gingerbread 2.3 and belle fp1 to gingerbread 2.3.7 while belle fp2 is comparable to early ICS(minus the browser)!

symbian's problem is its sucky browser and limited apps! if nokia would just listen to the people that love them, this problem will never happen..but they didnt! they listen to a market that only a number love them! a market that demand to do impossibles!

FYI, MS Office for Symbian is already available a long time ago.

Symbian is the best mobile OS, but lacks developer support.
For iOS fans: you can't even get a proper call recorder app.
For Windows Phone 7 fans: your OS is not well supported by developers.
For Android fans: Android is capable of anything, but it is battery hungry (so you need more than 2000mAh batteries).

dev support for windows phone 8 is gonna be good coz you can optimize windows apps for pc to work with windows phone 8 by minor changes.

There is 2 reason why I keep Windows
1st - Office
Many administrative department in my country use Microsoft Office. And if you to process formal application, you gotta use Microsoft Office. If you create a document in LibreOffice and open it in MS Office the layouts are going to mess up. So to ensure things play safe, better stick with MS Office.
2nd - Games
Most games are on Windows and optimized for windows. Don't talk about wine or playonlinux, the compatibility isn't great.

I hope there is differentiation in some way, shape or form from WP platform... even if it is just pricing!

i have a nokia 603(symbian) and just updated to belle fp 2 and it is really awesome
but i still don't get why will symbian (if and thats a big IF) get office 2013?!of course i would love to have it (if i don't leave symbian by then of course)
everybody knows that its a dying platform so why invest in it?! specially when there is already an official microsoft office for symbian^3 and belle versions
it doesn't take a genius to figure out that nokia persuaded microsoft to do that but why would nokia do that ?! what's the point?!
who knows, maybe office 2013 will be a reason to stay with my faithful 603 for some more time after nokia convinced me to stay for abit because of the awesome belle fp2 update
an off-topic note, symbian is covered by most well known apps(whatsapp, viber(no voice for now),skype, official Microsoft office, vimeo, top gear,CNN,BBC.............etc),the only shortage is hd games and it was there even when symbian was the most widespread platform!

I really no longer care about Office after being a long time user. Google Docs takes care of
what I need now. MS thought that the world could not live without Outlook & Office and it appears to be doing just fine without them.....

symbian is still the greatest platfrom and android is its legacy!

why? coz the engineer behind android are the engineer that give the "should-be" answer of symbian's falling the UIQ! but nokia didnt listen... they just did the worst move!

they already forcast that apple's iPhone will be famous but they continue to go s60 insted of the optimize UIQ!!!

the trouble is within nokia not in symbian!
