Microsoft Launcher soon to get new Cortana-related features, Feed improvements
Microsoft plans to bring even more new features and improvements to its Android launcher, but the beta testers can already try them out starting today. The beta version of Microsoft Launcher has just received a host of new Cortana-related features and some improvements that will make the feed much cleaner.

The most important change is Cortana SMS dictation, which basically allows the personal digital assistant to read incoming SMS messages. Also, parents can now ask Cortana for the location of their kids via voice (“Where are my kids?”).

As mentioned earlier, the update also helps cleaning up the launcher's feed, so if you've had that issue before, the new version of Microsoft Launcher should fix it for you. The rest of the changes coming soon to the stable version of Microsoft Launcher are listed below:

  • Now you can drag and drop widgets to and from the Launcher Feed. Widgets also no longer have card headers when placed in the Feed;
  • Updates to the calendar card let you add a new event with one click when you no longer have any more events for the day;
  • Tuning fixes for new app drawer animation.

There's also one other thing that's worth noting and that's the fact that Cortana now supports English for Indian users. This feature, along with the ones listed above, will be made available to everyone after they're tested.
