Lumia 940 no more: slim metal 950/950 XL tipped for November release with USB-C

Another source has now confirmed the generational leap, at least in the title of the upcoming first Lumias with Windows 10 Mobile. The source reconfirmed the specs, too, saying that the phones, codenamed Talkman and Cityman internally, will fit in slim metal bodies, have the latest USB Type-C omnidirectional connector, and will be announced in October, likely for a November release date...

I think its pretty safe to say Samsung is keeping Exynos to themselves. Its quite a leverage to have in the market at this point. You know... similar to how Apple keeps the AX SOCs to themselves.

No...I would rather go Intel than ever use Exynos

This will be interesting... good size removable battery, sd card slot, metal body, USB type C, Win 10 Mobile, and a great camera.

I'm only interested in a 1020 follow up, if that doesn't happen then I'll probably go to the iPhone for Force touch, since that'll change the game when it comes to typing.

Is Samsung even able to maintain production for external clients at this point? With maintaining the S6/edge line and the upcoming Note 5, Samsung may not have the capability to comfortably produce for other OEMs.

How can a phone be unibody and have a removable battery? Wouldn't being able to remove a battery mean it has a back cover, therefore not being unibody?

Could be a slide battery like the old days lol...could be fun if designed right.

I'm with everyone else, even if the 810 didn't overheat, it's a gen old now.

Overheating issue aside, how on earth is it a generation old?

Will this be verizon only? I don't think I will wait that long to buy a windows phone. Knowing the Luma lines the phone will bw thick and slippery with big bezels.lol

Wow nice specs. Think I'd rather the smaller version for once considering the 810 in the xl version.

god i hope so. i can't stand those cheap, candy-colored plastic lumia phones. they look like children's toys. way to finally bring yourself up to par with the rest of the phone market m$

Most ATT phones work flawlessly on TMO, 1520 and 1020 user here (1020 doesn't have hotspot...have no idea why.) The worst part is, 1020 was in Tmobile testing labs but was never put forth out of tmo.

My 1020 has hotspot capability and always has since I've owned it. Its called "internet sharing". It works very well.
