Leaked file for the CDMA X Phone confirms a Snapdragon S4 Pro again

0. phoneArena posted on 21 May 2013, 00:32

We're really not sure why the rumors persist that the upcoming Motorola X Phone could have a Snapdragon 800 in it. It seems like blind hope from Android fans driving the rumors at this point. We have an inside source saying that the X Phone will be running the Snapdragon S4 Pro, and now we have leaks from two different variants of the device that confirm that information...

it may not have the cutting edge specs we Android fans all drool over constantly but they may just mean we'll get the next best thing and that's a good value price tag a la Nexus series.

I agree. I think there looking to hit a value price just like the nexus and not worried about having the cutting edge. Sometimes it is not fun being the first out the gate. Let someone else take that gamble, talking to you LG.

Agreed. It might not be that Snapdragon 800/Tegra 4 beast most of us have been waiting for since CES, but it most definitely will get the job done. Especially considering there will be no (or very little) OEM bloatware to slow the system down and make this beast stutter and lag *cough* GS4 *cough*.

Even so, shouldn't Motorola have their own device ready for later in the year? I always thought that the X phone will be their "Google" phone and they will have their own separate line up as well. I remember there being a report of 3 more devices after the X phone being made for Q3; 2 of which are to be the replacement to the current Razr HD and Razr M, and the other rumored to be a low-cost model, similar to the Nexus 4.

It's not the bloatware that makes the GS1/2/3/4 lag, it's Touchwiz. My HTC One had plenty of bloatware when I got it too, but they actually spent time on Sense 5.0 making it buttery.

I consider Touchwiz bloatware, because Samsung didn't bother optimizing it at all.

i haven't really noticed much lag going on with my experience using the SIII and the S4 but if there is i don't think it'd be on TW because i'm hearing more complaints about lag on the S4 than i did for the SIII and the S4 is substantially more powerful than the SIII. the one thing that hasn't made a dramatic change between the two models is RAM and since there's more bloatware to consume even more of that now which would cause slowdown that's what i would bet is causing said lag from the S4.

With Google behind the creative specs of "The X phone," people must realize that there is more to a phone then the processor. More people are worried about battery life and camera sensors. I'm pretty sure the phone is just as smooth as it should be even with the Snapdragon S4 Pro. The 600 is having heating problems Google I'm sure wants to make sure this phone is as close to perfect as it can be. The 800 is not yet tested in the real world so I figured they wouldn't touch it.

I don't care. The S4 Pro can handle anything I could ever throw at it anyways. I care more about display, battery, storage, camera, and software features. Like things I can actually notice.

^^^ thank you, I think its time we stop focusing on so much power and focus on things that we actually can benefit from or things that really mater, such as battery life and build quality.

Just when will this phone be released, it seems like information about it has been leaking for quite too long.

How different are the Snapdragon 600 and the S4 Pro anyhow? It seems to me the main hardware is identical and the only difference is clock speed. Of course the spec and benchmark fiends in the comments here will deride it as "last year's specs" but if it runs smoothly, that's more important to me.

the 600 uses a slightly improved version of the Krait architecture which of course one should opt for but it's not really worth complaining about not having if you got something like an S4 Pro.

I am a Motorola fan not because of the specs. So it doesnt have to have 4GB Ram, a super quad core Pro ++, a 1600x1200 display, etc. I know some ppl base their decisions purely on specs.....but some of us dont.

As long as the OS is smooth I don't feel its the top priority to have a S800.. Hell my Lumia 920 runs ultra smooth with the S4 pro in it. I think they all need to move up to 60 MHz or more for the screen to give it that extra though

I care about battery life and design most. WTF will I do with all those gimmick features if I have no battery?
