Well Android is on all carriers and mvno's. plus you can get them pretty cheap so the stats will be skewed because of that.

"Big Three captured most of the sales with the Samsung Galaxy S III responsible for 52% of its sales. The Samsung Galaxy S II made up 21% of sales while the Samsung GALAXY Note II was responsible for 5%. "

52 + 21 +5 = 78% of Samsung sales came from high end smartphones... oh right... you are our 24/7 April fools joke

Sour grapes? More and more customers are seeing the benefit of Sammy's smartphones. Even former Apple owners. You too could experience the benefits of owning a Sammy phone.

Yes. Plus, Android is more powerful, flexible and functional than iOS, really skewing those stats.

Are the stats skewed in the Windows vs Mac sales? Its the exact same thing. Apple chose to not license iOS, so it is what it is.

If Android was on only one phone, would the numbers still be the same? Hard to tell. But it is what it is.

But....the iPhone has been on more carriers since 2010. That was supposed to be:

The Death of Android...Android...Android.....(trying the echo effect...lol)

Cheap, cheaper? Yea...but it also has to be a good product for ppl to continue to get it. The old Win Mo, Palm, BB was cheaper before and after Android came out......Palm is no longer around...and you know the story about the other 2.

Giving credit to Android for being a good product is hard for some, I understand. Sometimes its hard for me to give credit to the iPhone, iOS.

What a joke, ios is losing market share because people are liking Android. How hard is it to accept a fact like this?

Apple isn't about hardware or software, its about status! Its always been!

Macs cost to much for a average specs, they offer.
iPhone is to expensive for an Os so capped, and a hardware thats going to get outdated in 3 to 4 months™

It must be hard to be an Apple Fanboy nowadays®

I think it's only gonna get bigger with the new crop of phones coming out this year. The GS4, the One, Xperia Z and the Optimus G Pro...yep! Gonna be a tough year for Apple if they don't come up with something different. Many of us predicted Apple will start to lose its appeal after SJ died, and I think it happening now. Hopefully they will come up with another game changer, but so far all the innovation is coming from all the other OEMs.

I'm with you on that. Went from a T-Mobile G2 (HTC) to the Note 2. Couldn't be happier.

iphone is really losing it's luster. Apple will always make up some market share when the new iphones launch, but after that android dominates the other 3 quarters. I'm interested to see how BB and windows phone will fare this year.

Windows phone market share continues to climb. Up to 4.1%. This time last year it was at 2.7%.

"Android widened the gap over its rival, which last year stood at only 2% (47% Android-45% iOS)."

Wrong, wrong, wrong! Android didn't widen its lead; it regained it. Read the report and it shows that last year in this period, iOS had a 47% to 45.4% lead over Android. It is now 51.2% to 43.5% in favor of Android.

The road of "Android will never...." is littered with dead and incorrect statements. 7" tablets are DOA still brings a smile to myself whenever I see an article on the iPad Mini.

I just mentioned the 7" DOA thing in a forum about Apple and hypocrisy. lol.

No one wants a big phone...iPhone 5 is bigger. 7" tablets are DOA....enter the iPad Mini...that is cannibalizing the bigger iPad. Instead of market share increasing with the iPad Mini....its taking away sales from the bigger iPad..

Apple and hypocrisy seem to go hand in hand.
