Not in quailty, but quality will be great. And I've own Note 3 for some time and I have to say that software is not bad at all, I use different launcher, so visuals are not problem either.

Not really. Sales do not equal quality. If you say that, then you might as well say the iPhone is the best phone in the world, because it outsells every Android flagship combined.

Welcome to the real world. Android handsets have 81% market share compared to iPhone with 16%. (Google it) iPhone is great. Android devices are awesome. WP is also amazing. Sales equal acceptance of a product by masses. Samsung devices are sold in maximum numbers because of latest hardware/specs, Android/its features, after sale support to customer & (above all) options in all price range/sizes/specs/features. Not everyone is a geek like us. Average consumer wants a good device at good price. HTC devices have amazing build quality (with each HTC device with different design, better than iPhones), amazing hardware but 'every' time they make a mess of something for which they are criticized & get a bad name. The 3 main reasons for HTC to fail- 1)making blunders (like "4MP" ultrapixel or broken multitasking or no updates to devices) and 2) pathetic customer support after sale and 3) Overly priced devices. Samsung understands the market & doesnt make mistakes like HTC does. That is why, its sales are highest. And FYI, quality doesnt mean only build quality. HTC is superior in build, but Samsung is superior in understanding & listening to customer's requirement (which is what everyone wants).

I would love HTC to find success with this and many more devices to come coz I love the awesome HTC devices, but we must all accept the unfortunate reality that irrespective of all goods of HTC, it is going on path of Nokia... (I'm a HTC user BTW, but harsh realities are something we must accept even though it doesnt feel right)

HTC One squared( power of 2) with the little 2 is the best name they can give it. That way the next one can be called HTC One cubed or HTC One to the power of three. The problem with that naming scheme is that the little 2 could confuse some people that might see it as a disclaimer and they look at the bottom of the website to see what the 2 means. The best would be to just make a better name but otherwise, HTC One ^2 or HTC squared is the best. They can market it as greater than a sequel since squared usually means more than double unless the number is 1.

Ya: One (e.g. 1.0) raised to the power of anything = 1, hehe. The specs look really good tho. If it comes with any means of increased usable storage >= 32GB, I'm buying it (either 64GB fixed or removable SD).

The One is very much different from 1. The one means the only one that matters or the number 1 on the pecking order in literary terms. The number 1 is the lowest number in math. Two entirely different definitions. Either way, HTC is going to screw up the naming or just start over again like they always do.

1^2 = 1 x 1 = 1 I think they should just called it the 2014 edition.

HTC One doesn't need to be assigned such a low value. I would assign it a zero but some sites gave it a perfect 10. So 10 x 10 = 100. Which is much better than double which is 20.

How about HTC O2 ?

Even with these "beasty" specs do you guys think it can hold on against the mighty s5, g3 and z2 ? Who are working on Exynos octa/64 bit processors, flexi displays, ois camera's, and 2k resolutions. What htc is trying to release in the future was sammy's, lg's and sony's specs last year. Now HTC might pop up with these octa core, ois camera and 2k resolution by the end of 2014 in a phablet which will be the successor to the one max. But by then sammy, lg and sony will be out with their next gen tech. Seriously, why is HTC so slow in adapting newer tech ?

I am really glad that they will stay with fullHD resolution. I would even preffer just HD. For me more than 300ppi is unnecessary. 2k in ~5' screen is a joke that will only drain battery and make harder for device to run games etc. And HTC ONE got OIS. Don't forget how Samsung failed with current Exynos octa processors that were slower and more power hungry than s800.

U have to be a HTC hater, first of all the Sony Xperia z had the worst display where 720p displays such as iPhone 5 and htc one x outshine it's display. The Xperia z had also a snapdragon s4 pro chip set such was late last year during it's launch. The HTC one and s4 where similar in specs. So I don't see the slow adoption on HTC I see it on Sony.

The One's camera already has OIS, and 1080p is 2K. Octa core is a gimmick unless used in big.Little, not like Mediatek's octa core. 99% of apps aren't optimized for more than quad core, most usually don't even use quad, so over half of your cores will just be idle. The One X was the first quad core phone, and the DNA/Butterfly was the first 1080p phone; HTC is typically very quick to adapt new technology.

umm sorry to break this to you but the exynos 5 octa was terrible. there were issues with the performance due to the constant switching between the a15 and a7 cores which also made the battery suffer, even though it was supposed to do the opposite

As I have already said it will use Snapdragon 805.

I dont think their is any R&D department in HTC. They are not trying anything innovative like flexible displays and octa core of samsung and lg, 64 bit processor by samsung, water proofing capabilities of sony, bravia/tri luminous display tech etc. What htc does is buy the well known widely available processor, lcd display,a small upgrade to the battery, all same crappy camera, and they just polish their own sense moving from 5 to 5.5 and then to 6 now.

Mmmanuuu, u are stupid dat is all, by the comments u say are just saying "I'm a HTC hater" and please we all know that ur thumbs up ur own comments lol u board person. I mean no company has mastered quad core to compete with the dual core a series chips on iphones like the quad is more or less the same as the iPhone's chips. While jumping on octa please it's just gonna be another gimick, not when Sammy showed us how it failed. Bravia/tri luminous display are just gimmicks to, if u compare bravia to any other display it's just the same or worse no biggie. HTC polishes the ui to make it better not flooding it with sci fi fail features. HTC is propbly the truest innovator front facing speakers that's there and it's a need and everyone uses it unlike the features on Samsung, HTC design is second to none unlike plastic garbage for a price over $800, HTC sense is the closest to stock runs very smooth and fast unlike samlag and Sony Xperia lag. So please just keep the hatered in ur heart cause we don't want to hear ur fanboyism

This is horrible naming unless HTC plans to release another top gun phone not too long after. The best name to the true successor would simply be HTC One 2014

Sounds very promising, a tank of a phone with great specs. I will remain skeptical on that camera rumor obviously. I also remain skeptical of a 2900mah batter. They will put 3200 if anything since that's kind of the standard. 2900 seems like it would still not be enough with all these powerful upgrades but who knows. 100% agreed though with previous commentor saying 2GB of ram is more than enough for Sense 5 or 6 since HTC doesn't bog down their OS with crappy non useful features.

I shall wait a phablet size, hopefully their successor to the one max, anything under 5.5" is just too small, would have preffered a 5mp front facing camera like on the lenovo vibe Z and the oppo find 7. A little disappointing to say the least.

If Apple can do iPhone 4S and 5S, than HTC should be allowed to do One+. It think the phone sounds promising. The One has very few if any week spots already, with a little upgrade it could be a perfect handset. A little better camera and a larger battery are welcomed editions, all the rest is just fine in my opinion.
