Meh. . ., useless unless you're motivated, and if your motivated you dont need to buy such an app, for when you'remotivated you'd onconciously monitor yourself healthwise with out you even realizing it. . .

Actually apps like the one above are big sellers on the App Store. I guess it's not so useless now.

I can think of many things, off the top of my head, that are big sellers by overall they are worthless.My point? Sales don't translate in to actual usefulness this may be a great app, but not because lots of people buy it

For some people, tracking their stats in real time, much like an interactive video game provides the needed motivation. For example, my mother recently quit smoking and has started working out quite frequently. Her job offered free fitbit ultras and she loves being able to see how many steps she has taken in a day, calories burned, sleep efficiency etc. It also allows her friend to see and essentially compete with her. They earn achievements for hitting certain milestones. In the end, if it gives you that extra push to keep pressing forward, there's no harm in it.
