now apple products are expensive everywhere.......on the other hand, the lg is selling a cheap phone for higher prices in some countries, its cheap.. the camera, display, build quality, benchmark performance etc aren't really good....it was a really good phone for $300 but if its priced at $600, then its just the worst phone you can get at that price.....you just can't buy a $300 phone from a company without any brand recognition for more than $600 can you? and you don't even get the play store in that overpriced cheap phone and it won't be recognized as google's phone either because its sold by lg and the play store will also be missing in the handset.....

they have chose lg over sony because they wanted to make a cheap phone........sony phones have better quality and sony products are usually more expensive.......expensive laptops, expensive TVs , etc etc

i don't know why google isn't interested in india, there isn't a play store, the nexus devices never come to india....and google now doesn't work in india........
now there is a reason why nokia is so popular in india......

aircel was the first indian carrier to bring the iphone 4s to india last year......their website crashed within a couple of hours and all the iphones that they have bought to india were already sold.....and those iphones were priced over $1000
indians spend thousands and thousands of dollars on buying gold every year....calling indian citizens poor isn't justified because the number of rich people in india(including the black money) outnumber the number of people living in usa and england combined
On the other hand, google makes money from ads, so it doesn't matter whether you are rich or poor and the nexus devices should be sold at cheaper rates if they think that indians don't spend much, not at double the price through lg
and the other nexus products never came to india at all..

if its a developing country, then the phone should be sold at cheaper price....because indians will never buy lg phone for such a huge price tag....they would prefer an iphone/galaxy to the nexus 4

Absolutely Right. I live in India too and almost all devices are more expensive in India (except for those manufactured by Indian Brands) like Samsung, Apple, Sony, Motorola, LG, etc. So we are a big loss anyways and with this price hike it will be a total disaster as no one will buy such an expensive device. They should keep it under 25k INR (or 456$) for it to be a big hit. Else it's a big no from me.

8gb nexus 4 is available for 23,500(16,500 in usa) on ebay india
16gb version is available for 27,500(19,000 in usa)
the price is much higher in india, there isn't a memory card slot and we don't get a headset with the phone...
the indian version could be more expensive, the phones available on ebay are actually imported from the US

Yeah. I did check the E-Bay Price and it seemed reasonable. Also check some other websites, I saw it on Pre-Order on those websites. But what I really was expecting was that the price should be consistent with the Google Price. As NEXUS is renowned for it's pricing aspect the most along with killer specs. So if this aspect is taken away, then it's definitely not worth it to buy this phone. So if the price is not consistent or at-least similar to the Google pricing then it' definitely not worth it.

Hey guys, I import phones from the US (not a merchant) as a hobby so if you guys are looking for any phone including Nexus4, drop me a note. I can source you at a lesser (marginally lesser, may be a 1000 less) price than ebay india.

Do note you can not directly compare the $300 value, price in USA is $335 ($299 + shipping $13.99 + Tax $21.39). On top of this includes international shipment and import duty. So the price on eBay India is justified not a robbery by any means. Even still if you would like it for a 1000 lesser, I can source you, drop a note at siddharth.swaminathan@gmail.com

Damn...
I'm really excited with Google's the pricing...
If LG really sell it as twice as Google's pricing, maybe I'll just buy Galaxy Nexus, or XiaoMi Mi-Two...
