LG made only 1.2 cents in operating profit for each phone it shipped last quarter

Selling smartphones has become a low margin business for LG, based on its latest earnings report. The company posted an operating profit for the second quarter of just $172,000 for its mobile business. During the three months, the company shipped 14.1 million units, a 3% decline from last year's second quarter figure. At the end of the day any one of these budget phones will work. Anything more is luxury. That's why Motorola sales more Moto G's vs. Moto X's. It's the same reason why Apple refuses to release a budget model. They pretty much know that people don't require all the features of an Android phone and charge a premium for the privilege of using iOS.

"But the SD Card and removable battery was suppose to beat the competition!!!!" What the S6 haters said when they bought the G4.

It was NEVER EVER proven that removing SD slot hurts a phones sales. iPhones are without any of that since 2008 with huge growth. Only minority of butthurt tech geeks have issues. Thank god.

Exactly! But if you believe the S6 haters Samsung was doomed when they removed those features.

That's what happens when you add on things to the G3 without fixing most of its original flaws.

I really love LG and Im so happy with my G3, but the LG G4 was a failure because its too expensive and has no fingerprint scanner as other flagships, instead of leather-cover they should put real innovation on their phones.

Well fingerprint scanner is useless for me unless placed at somewhere reachable like back of the phone it's really not easy to unlock your phone one handed this way and again it's useless unless be very very fast like touch the sensor and unlock the phone so it needs a lot more improvement till i even consider it a feature to have.

I bet LG is waiting until they can put it under the glass, which is now available. That's also the only way I would want to use it. Death to physical home button was best move LG made.

The Optimus G was fantastic but they went downhill since. Well, the Nexus 5 was awesome too but I think Google had a hand in the design.
