LG and Telus announced an agreement to produce the world's first Fastap phone

LG Electronics and TELUS Mobility announced its agreement to produce the world's first Fastap™ phone. The keypad allows users to quickly type text messages and other data using letter, number and punctuation keys arranged around the standard keypad. A modified LG 5450 with Fastap keyboard was demonstrated at the CTIA Wireless show. The Digit Wireless Fastap keypad brings keyboard functionality to a standard-sized mobile phones, offering easy text messaging and other mobile data applications.



TELUS Mobility is the first wireless provider in the world that will commit to Fastap technology. The first Fastap enabled phone will be offered exclusively in Canada in 2004.
