LG ads make fun of slow Samsung models and small screened Apple handsets

0. phoneArena posted on 15 Oct 2013, 21:25

For Korean manufacturer LG, Life's Good; the OEM's flagship LG G2 is powered by a quad-core 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 that LG claims is 20% faster than the silicon powering the Samsung Galaxy S4. And while this figure might not apply to all Samsung Galaxy S4 models, LG is poking fun at owners of the device by sending out banner ads owners of the model that ask them if they are waiting too long for data to load on the phone...

I like LG, but this time they're damn wrong. They only know how to make fun of others while they didn't realize they're the worst. They're slow at updates, slow at releasing their devices to countries.

I bet that the LG G2 will be the slowest of all to get updated to Android KitKat.

not slow update its no update. worst ifs to public declare there update for the sales than retract their promise. if they have let me know there no update I would have avoid buying their phone.

just Google "optimus 3d ics update" to learn the truth.

And also, they are slow at releasing their phones to countries like mine. I live in Malaysia, and guess what? No news of when LG will release the G2 to my country. And they said they are "Learning from you", that's BS.

And the Optimus 3D ICS update was already released, but the update was unstable.

I tried following the web procudure and its brick my Optimus 3D and since its the only phone with 3D camera i visited their local service center.

The first thing the CSO told me is water damage and start telling me my warranty is void etc... I inform him i seldom use the phone only as a spare phone for oversea trip because of the 3D carmera. Lastly, i told them my warranty is expired anyway. Its just leave a bad taste in the mouth. A few counter away, i heard a guy loudly exclaim that he is not buying an LG phone again.... in my mind i say welcome to the club!! hehehe..

They restore my phone and charge me Singapore $16++
My LG Optimus 3D is still struck at 2.3 because they don't officially support ics. Anyway, over where i stay everyone acknowledge that LG stands for Low Grade.

I only thing i will buy from them is the Passive 3D TV. If other brands release Good Passive 3D TV then bye bye LG!

No more Low Grade, LousyG product for me!

While we are at Customer Service, Samsung offer the best Local Customer Service with the home collection and delivery of your repaired phone.

Kudos! to them. I buy into Samsung because they do listen to us, their customer. Two weeks ago, i wrote to Samsung Customer Support on the gear watch not having a watch face with real time seconds display needed for pulses taking. Today i just discover they have release a few new watch face and one of them have a real time seconds display. I am truly happy!!!

Sorry PA if i spoil LG marketing ploy. You can appoach Samsung, they are also a big spender on advertisement.

assuming youre a fellow Singaporean, i cannot agree with u about what u said about Samsung's CS here. its complete utter trash. i sent my Note 1 for repair 2 weeks after getting, and for the 1 year i had the phone, i sent the phone for repair almost every month. and every time the phone came back in worse condition. LG also has that delivery fir the phone, they'll collect it from u and bring it back once its done.
and ive heard countless amount of times at Samsung service centers people saying "never getting a samsung phone again", and when i was working at samsung, the amount of complaints i heard about poor customer service is astonishing and it made it hard to sell the products to most people (not to mention when the devices lag/crash during demos)

Lucky you! In England I am afraid Samsung is totally disengaged from the customer and you need to deal with a Samsung/Nokia Service Centre. When I developed a crack on my S3 (featured on PA) all they did was bounce me from Customer Support to Customer Service, had to pay the sevice centre £134 to fix the issue! My issue with LG is that the phone is on a limited release in the UK (16gb version) and not widely available,no resale value and no software update/support. That last point is an absolute deal breaker......!

The LG Optimus G and Optimus G Pro is still on Android 4.1, no news on when will LG update them to Android 4.3 or 4.4. While Samsung have already said that they will update their Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 in November.

My friend bought Optimus G a month ago here in India, it comes with 4.2.2 out of the box. :)

G2 already released in India after Z1 and Note III. this time LG is li'l bit faster than earlier times.

LG is worst if look for Updates.

G PRO & G2 & G never updated to higher android systems. G & G PRo at 4.1.1 & G2 at 4.2.

Total useless looking towards updates.

Its funny when samsung does it but not so funny now that LG does it! The G2 is better than any offering by samsung, htc, or apple. Hate all you want but LG did nothing but tell the truth. Now when they have a valid response, they should reply but i don't see what they could possibly say to LG to discredit the G2!

What's funny is that they're comparing the G2 to 8 months old devices. Ofc the G2 will be faster than both the GSIV and the One, it features the S800 instead of the S600. Why don't they compare it to the GNOTE III instead? Why don't they compare the G2 speaker to the stereo speakers of the One?
The G2 has one of the most unergonomics design ever with its stupid back buttons. Not to mention their terrible software, Samsung's rip off. And oh, UPDATES!

Notice how LG didn't compare the G2 with the Note 3.

And if I'm correct, Oprimus G is still running 4.1.

G pro also still at 4.1. Only g2 at 4.2 & it will be at 4.2 forever.

have you not read all the stories pointing out how Google has bypassed the manufacturers? Almost all the important updates happen without changing the version number now.

Also, if you truly believe that your phone (or any product) can beat the competitors easily, you wouldn't even think of posting these. :)

Are you not familiar with all not so major phone manufacturers HTC used to be horrendous with updates Motorola too heck all of them would leave phones in the dust but now is different heck the lg l9 got updates regularly y'all quitbliving in the past pretty soon you'll be like the iPhone users "android is so slow and force closes my apps and drains battery and doesn't have that many apps "

It'd be nice if manufacturers could just talk about the great things in their devices and leave the competition out of it. Kinda feels like campaign ads at times. G2 is an awesome phone, just tell us about it.

This just be wrong and cold-hearted. LG shouldn't make fun of them small phones, they should just keep making bigger ones.
As far as the Samsung crack, I has a Note 2 and it's blazin fast. HTC, wells, maybe they gots one right with the constant charging although that be a problem too on them iPhones.

Funny an low brow at same time.

Now, can LG take the heat it'll get in return?

Yup, LG needs to pick up the pace with android updates and they should also get a new UI instead of the samsungish one they've got atm. Nevertheless G2 is a fantastic phone (aside from the rear design) and I am planning on picking either this or the nexus 5 up!

With G2 you will get stuch on 4.2 forever. Keep it in Mind.

Go to Nexus.

Nexus is a no brainer if you stay in the US. In my local store, Nexus is charge the full price like G2.

Apple for an apple, Samsung become a no brainer with their Note 3 charge the same price as LG G2 which is going to be the price for the upcoming Nexus 5.

History just repeat itself here.
