LG Optimus S is set to launch on November 7th
Although it was initially set to arrive in time for Halloween, the LG Optimus S for Sprint was nowhere to be found or mentioned on the fast approaching date.

However, Sprint customers who are itching to purchase this affordable Android 2.2 powered handset can circle down Sunday, November 7th. That's when this handset will finally become available for purchase, but it's only going to be the purple colored version that'll be available. So if that specific color doesn't quite suit your taste, you'll have to wait out two weeks before the version sporting the charcoal paint job is available.

Nonetheless, the arrival of the LG Optimus S will finally signal LG's Android presence on the pin dropping network. Naturally, it'll be boasting all the wonders and joys that Android 2.2 has to offer while still sporting an attractive $49.99 on-contract pricing.

The Transform is better! It is Sprint's best midrange Android currently. Would have maybey considered this had they put a flash on the camera. Thats a must for me. I don't know why they don't include that on most of these types of devices. Is it really that much more $$$ or something to include?? Then some phones have a flash and it's a useless one makes no sense..

For $100 more I hope the Transform is better because the Zio sure isn't and it's $50 more. I've had some hands on with the Optimus S and it is a solid device. Much better than I expected!

Having played with this device extensively for 2 days I have to say wow. It is a solid little device that is relatively speedy given the processor and the picture and screen quality is wonderful, It handles Froyo great and is a flat out steal for $50 bucks. I would take this over the transform, zio, or even the HERO for that matter.
