Why would LG take the rest of the year off when their phones are better than some the top flagships. Smh

They COULD be better, but they are not.

Yeah same as other flagships but how many sales have they made in the past or this year? This phone looks very ordinary and more like a knock off of other mid-range phones.

I think they need to take the next few years off because LG clearly doesn't get it.

Is the iPhone the only 2019 phone left with a huge notch? Seems everyone is finally realizing how ugly a notch is.

The Mate 30 Pro will also have one because it includes a Face ID-like system.

You can have a face-id like system without the ugly notch or you prefer an ugly notch than some bezel?

Tbh I'm not that bothered and never have been. The actual tech is more important to me. I'm happy with a Pixel 4 bezel, an iPhone notch, a G8X notch, and a Samsung punch hole.

Exactly how I feel. None of the current design trends actually bothers me in the slightest.

chimming in if you don't mind: design-wise it doesn't bother me. However, I like my notification icons at the top and a wide notch ruins that for me a lot.

Mind telling us why you think so? I know it's your subjective opinion, but I'd like to know.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the G8 firm my v35 which u looove! But let's see this first. I'm keeping this phone at least until black Friday. Quad dac + manual camera is amazing. I've also taken my phone in water several times. The microphone is unmatched. And best of all I can have that for $300 a few months later

Damn. Looks like LG and Asus are the only ones left offering the 3.5mm jack. That's very commendable in my books.

How about no notch? I'll take a little bezel for what should be basic features.

LG new CEO: we'll release flagships as needed. Also LG: let's push forward with these variants and special models with as little marketing as possible.

Worst design for LG so far. Are they dedicated to losing their phone business? I am a long time LG user and currently use the G8. There were two major things that made the LG phones exceptional - the removable battery and the rear button. There is no reason they could not have made a phone both water resistant and removable but they surrendered that advantage a long time ago. But the rear button! The thing I like least about my G8 is the side power button. Very inconvenient to anyone used to the rear button but ok, one doesn't use the power button all that often. Unlock is another thing. You just pick up the phone and it "automatically" unlocks because that is where your finger falls naturally. I don't bother with facial recognition or anything else because this is so natural and easy. If this is actually what LG has planned for the future, then there is no longer any reason not to switch to Samsung.

Never used an LG with rear fingerprint sensor, but I did use a G4 when my S6 Edge+ was being repaired. I absolutely loved the rear buttons, and found that it was actually very useful. I will definitely give LG some credit there.

LG used to have 2 cameras when everybody else had 1. Now, most of competitors have 3 cameras, but LG is still stuck with 2.
