LG G7 One is the manufacturer's first phone to run Android 9 Pie

We now know which LG handset is the manufacturer's first to run Android 9 Pie. It is the LG G7 One, which was also LG's first entry in the Android One program. According to XDA, an update is being disseminated to the model, weighing in at 812MB. Besides the update to Android 9, it includes the November Android security update and new functionality for the camera. The security update is not much of a shocker since Android One handsets are expected to receive these every month. But receiving the latest Android build is no doubt a nice surprise for LG G7 One owners.

Android 9 Pie includes an Adaptive battery that allows you to limit battery use on apps that you don't use too much. Adaptive brightness figures out how you like to have your screen set, and adjusts it automatically. The build also adds gestures for navigating the device, the Digital Wellbeing app for tracking your phone and app usage, and much more.

As for the LG G7 ThinQ, LG is expected to soon offer an Android 9 Pie beta program to those who own the device in South Korea (model number LM-G710N). Those in the U.S. with the flagship will have to wait for carriers to test the update first, and roll out Android 9 on their own schedules. The LG G7 One is easier to update since it is close to being stock Android.
