LG G5 hands-on

In the smartphone kingdom, South Korea lays claim to two of the most notable makers in the industry. It’s a one-sided affair to tell you the truth, as Samsung has continually been the premier manufacturer out of the country. Conversely, there’s LG, who has been trailing its competitor for as long as we can remember. Don’t get us wrong, Samsung has clearly earned its spot in the business, but LG also deserves some credit for being innovative in its own way...

Also with the Samsung s7 edge, you get a Bigger size screen but smaller size phone, you get a bigger battery removing the over time damage with ease and without turning the phone off, if you running out of battery you just put that wiresless battery charger CASE on and singing in the rain

I am looking also for a successor of my G2. I think the G5 is quite nice but not more. And to pay so much money for a phone which is not much better than the G2? - No way! I want a phone with a equal or better body screen ratio than the G2. The phone should be thinner, faster and should have a better battery life. Further I want a metal or plastic body. I think I have to replace my g2 battery and wait at least 2 more years for the "perfect" affordable phone. But maybe a chinese brand like Meizu, Xiaomi or Huawei will release such a phone this or next year.

Yes this phone is probably going to be a good phone, but not G2. Let's see what other manufacturers can come up with.

If ugly is the only criticism samsung fans can come up with, i'd say lg is doing pretty good =p

Bezels, battery and UI is also a good criticism. I wouldn't take a conclusion just yet before the s7 and full reviews come, but I'm sure LG can do better than this.

It might not be the most beautiful phone to some people. However, I think it brings some interesting innovations to mobile phone industry. They have made a brave decision. Kudos LG!

It look nice (front), BUT, the back is fugly, imo... Let's see S7 (live stream) next.

In my opinion, yep the design looks some kind of ugly and beautiful in same time but what we are looking here is the features that LG added. What I really don't like is the bezel.

The G2 is what got people hooked. I bought the G3 too, but the G4 drifted from it's roots and I passed on it. I really, really wanted to want the G5, but this hurts.

I would love this if they stuck with the G4's UI. Personally, I don't care about the back or the battery size as long as it lasts enough, plus that modular thing is actually something i've quite wanted, I just don't like the UI at all on this

G3 was the first QHD display and not G4! "...the first on the market to commercially have a Quad-HD screen with the LG G4."

To All the G5 haters please get a life, Look at the WOW's it has come up with 1. 8MP for Low light and 16MP for high quality photos truly awesome 2. LG friends although the name is too corny like the idea B&F music, additional battery when we are using the camera wow 3. The VR Friend is truly awesome innovation, while all the current VR has you putting the phone connected directly to the head. LG version VR has a light weight VR connect to the phone 4. Removable battery on a metal design, can always use the spare battery 5. There could be more friends(yuk) which could always be added Compare these features with SAMSUNG s7 which is more of a polish of S6, not bad but not innovative enough. Looks--- Give me functionality over form any day

Looks like it has huuuge clearances!! Is thing will fall apart after a year of intense use. Removable batteries are dying out. I bet this thing will be a desaster for LG and G6 will come with metal unibody without any modular design!

I'm having a problem with the modular uses. Seems like the fit on the bottom piece will eventually not line up with the back of the phone evenly. Just one of my speculations.

the design is not very appealing in my opinion, but the phone works well and the camera is nice, So i am willing to look at the specs and not so much on the design. But for now i am waiting on the note6 when it will come out.
