LG Ally, your Froyo is about to be served

0. phoneArena posted on 18 Jan 2011, 22:19

A leaked .PDF file shows that Verizon is on the verge of making the LG Ally a better machine through an upgrade to Android 2.2; despite the upgrade to Froyo, not every feature is going to work on the LG Ally and we need to hear about support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1...

Quietly one of the best Android phones on the market...if you're not looking for all the glitz and glamour the X, Incredible, EVO, and Galaxy S offers this is a good device to have for entry level smartphone owners.

it IS known that the Ally will NOT support adobe flash. You can call vzw cust service to confirm. That leaked doc didn't have all the details. Just in case you were hoping....

I just received the update the other day - and still don't have Adobe Flash. I love the phone and the shape, but with the lacking adobe flash I doubt I would recommend it. There's a lot you miss without that. I'm not sure the upgrade to 2.2 is worth all the hype without the Flash. Maybe they'll add it or someone will know how to add it. Waiting for some posts on that.

Just received the update yesterday. I loved my Ally 'til this last update ... home key doesn't work at all, I have to backspace through everything to get to the home screen ... deleted all my bookmarks & locked saved messages ... surfin the web isn't any different ... extra apps I don't use & will never use, therefore taking up space on the phone ... all keys wake the phone up, all I had to do was touch the power key or open the slider, I don't like that any key wakes the phone up, phone wakes up in my purse or coat pocket now... no Flash which sucks, I miss a lot not having Flash ... out of all the updates I had received since getting the Ally 10/2010, this one was the worst, totally screwed up my phone. My son has an Ally & it crashed twice since he got his. The only things I'm thankful for at the moment are the fact that my contacts weren't deleted & my SD card wasn't erased.

All my contacts were deleted! All i have left is my fb contacts! Add to that that some of my apps arent working properly and that makes for one horrible update. This had better beresolved soon...
