LG Accolade now for sale through Verizon
With all the recent talk about smartphones for Verizon, you may be wondering if there are any new simple budget phones avaliable. Starting today, the new LG Accolade VX5600 can be purchased through the Verizon web site for $19.99 after a $50 rebate with a 2-year contract. The Accolade VX5600 is a replacement for the VX5500, which came out the end of 2008. The camera is now 1.3MP (up from VGA), though most other features haven't changed much, including a 1.76" 220x176 pixel internal display, 1.04" 64x96 pixel external display, WAP browser, VZ Navigator, voice commands, 1000 entry phonebook, speakerphone, 2.5mm headset jack, and Bluetooth support. Just like its predecessor, there's no microSD card slot, so you'll be limited to the internal memory (size isn't listed) for saving pictures or audio files. At least the Accolade will not require a data plan like most newer phones.
